| Chapter 7: Forgotten Memories |
It had been nearly 3 month since Leila had enrolled in the school and she hadn't opened up as much as the Professor hoped she would. The other girls would usually talk out loud, saying nearly the first thing that came to mind; playing with everyone-they were basically outgoing. Leila still kept to herself mostly and only chatted with small groups of girls up to three people. She was almost always seen near Logan or Kitty during the school day. Other than that she stayed mostly in her room. She was still afraid of the bullies from a while back finding her.
The teachers knew it wasn't healthy for her to stay inside, but she always seemed occupied as if she were doing something in there other than relaxing. Now they still try and get her out of the room every now and then to avoid her being too cooped up and anti-social because people that way don't usually end up happy in life. For example, Magneto; he hates all humans and tries nearly everything he can to let them know how they feel or kill them. His methods, to most, seem unnecessary and twisted.
Xavier had found it odd that Magneto had done nothing for this long, but it wasn't the first time. As time goes on, they both get old and are able to do fewer things. Even then, Magneto still has enough people to back him up by his side. He could send them out at any time, but instead he's stayed dormant for a few months now. Was he planning something big or was he just letting age get to him as he sat and did nothing?
Xavier's head turned to look out his window when he heard the roar of a motorcycle engine and Scott's shouts. A slight chuckle escaped from him. He knew it was Logan and Scott; they always argued and sometimes acted as though they were brothers. The Professor cleared his throat as he blocked out the other distracting sounds and continued to teach the lesson on Physics to his class.
Logan drove down the highway fast with a smirk on his face. Scott was shouting at him to take care of the bike as he drove off because Logan usually had one of his bike's lost or destroyed and every time he did Scott would scold him and threaten to tell him that he would never let Logan ride his bike again so he wasn't allowed. Of course, Logan never listens to him and always takes it anyway which just repeats the cycle all over again.
There was a slight screech from the tires as Logan parked in the small parking space of the bar. When he got off, he already had a cigarette out and began walking towards the door. As he walked inside the smell of cigarettes and alcohol reigned over the sweaty men and women who were inside. Many sat at tables and argued over the silliest things since some of them were drunk. Logan walked straight to a stool in front of the bar stand.
"Lemme get a shot of scotch." He said as he pulled out his cigarette. The bar tender nodded as he pulled out a glass without wiping it down and set it on the table. He pulled out a tall bottle and only poured a small amount in the small glass. "Lemme get a double. These kids at school can really get you worn out..." Logan groaned.
"Alright," the bartender said as he poured the same amount in the same glass. Logan nodded with approval and gulped it all down in one gulped and beckoned for another. "You got a stronger one?"
"That was our strongest one..." the bartender said, looking a bit shocked. He had never seen anyone drink that scotch like that; in one gulp, especially his strongest one? That was unheard of and he found it quite unsettling that Logan did it. "School that stressful for you, huh?"
"Yep," Logan sighed. "Not strong enough." He murmured. He made a face before throwing some money on the table and walking out of the bar. Hopping back onto his motorcycle, Logan chose to go to a bar he already knew since they would already have scotch somewhat strong enough for his taste. The only reason he changed bars every now and then was to see if he found any bar that served something stronger.
