Whenever you feed a psychic vampire (you are taken for granted), try to tell yourself, "I was used".
Why?
Because if you are subject to low self-esteem, one of the first conjectures you might come to is, "I am useless".
A great deal of what we say about ourselves is usually negative, harsh, or critical in some way or another.
In this case exclusively, the conjecture you instigate should be such or similar to such:
"If I am useless, then why do I keep getting used? I suppose then, that I am not useless at all."
Being used can really suck if you are not careful. However, when you think of it this way, you turn the situation into a positive and help yourself--ironically enough--by using what was meant to hurt you...
...and to think...
All you had to do was change your perspective.
Cool, right?
