New Hedgehog in Town

Hi, my name is Anna. I'm 18 years old and I'm new in town and I barely know anyone. I used to be just a normal hedgehog, until I met Him. Our meeting wasn't one you'd expect. Usually you'd meet people by seeing them in the store, school, or while taking a walk. But that never happens to me. I'm usually the easy target for bullies or villains. The last villain I ran into was one that doesn't like my kind. But I was able to get away and move far away from him. My parents died when I was younger. I would watch over myself for years. I was able to graduate High School and now I can have a job that'll pay for my rent and put food on my table. But I would still run into the villains.

People say I look like Him. My fur is teal and I have Emerald green eyes. I usually wear a dress and black flats, but lately I've been wearing shorts, t-shirts, and regular shoes because of how much running I have to do. When I moved, I expected a nice fresh start. And I didn't even get that cause one villain thought I was this Hero. The one that's stopped him many times. You'd think he'd be able to tell the difference between Male and Female but no. And I wasn't going to be able to get out of this one easy.

I was walking down the street when I saw a couple robots heading towards me. It wasn't at a fast pace, but I knew they were coming for me. So I went the opposite direction back towards my apartment. I've heard of this Dr. Eggman. He seemed worse than all the other villains I've met in my life, and I didn't want to meet him for it. I noticed the robots had moved faster and were catching up to me. So I moved a little bit faster. My apartment was just a few blocks away. If I ran, I would probably be able to make it if they didn't have jets. I don't think the Dr. was smart enough to put jets on them so I ran as fast as I could to reach my door. What I thought was wrong. They had jets and they were closing in. I knew I wasn't going to be able to reach my home, but that doesn't mean that I'll be taken to the Dr. willingly. So I did the best I could, and yelled for help.

I don't think anyone heard me. No one was around and the robots had caught up to and grabbed hold of my arms.

"Let me go!" I shouted, trying to get the robots off of me.

"Subject captured. Take him to base." Him? Don't robots have brains? I have the girl parts and I look like a girl. Apparently robots are as stupid as their maker. Though my efforts were futile, I still tried to break free. Before the robots lifted off towards the ship above us, I saw something running towards me. I wasn't able to get a good look because we were in the air by then and I was becoming a captive, again.

The ship was called the Egg Carrier. And it was way bigger than a ship. It was more of a cruiser that flies. There was a cage on the deck and the robots dropped me in it while another pair of robots closed it. I wasn't the fighting type, which makes me pretty defenseless, but I can still break a bone if I had to. But I've never been able to get out of a cage before. The cage was teleported below deck and I saw a fat, bald man waiting for it to arrive. When he saw me, he got excited.

"Hello, Sonic," he said.

"Sonic? I'm not Sonic. Can't you tell I'm a girl?"

"You look like him. Who are you?"

"Anna."

"I suppose you called for help. Then he will come."

"Who will? Let me out of here."

"No. You'll be my prisoner as bait."

"Bait for who!?"

"The blasted Hedgehog called Sonic!" I've heard the name before. The Hero of Mobius. He was probably the one running towards me. But who would rescue me? I'm just a girl. I felt the cage moving and instantly fell down while it was being pulled onto the Bridge. I thought I hard an airplane, but I couldn't be sure. The Carrier's engines were loud until I was in the bridge. Robots were working all the controls and I sat there, feeeling scared of what's going to happen. Soon enough, the door opened and Eggman came in looking excited. "He's here." I saw him press a button and theres was gun fire all over. I think they were shooting at something in the air until I saw a blue and yellow plane fly by with the gun fire following it. That must be Sonic I thought. If Eggman hates him that much, he must be good at defeating the Dr.

I heard a crash on the deck and turned around to see a plane landing. There was a two tailed fox that was flying the plane and a blue hedgehog just getting out of it. He was cyon blue with emerald green eyes, gloves, and running shoes that were the color of red with a white stripe and a golden buckle on the side. He had that cocky look in him while he destroyed the robot defense and smashed the door down.

"Hey Egghead," he said. "What are you doing kidnapping girls? I thought you were better than that."

"My robots are dumb enough to think she was you. But now she's staying." I slid to the side of the cage at his words. My past ran through my head as villain after villain captured me but always let me go, in a painful kind of way. Sonic looked at me in the eye and probably noticed the fear in them. My eyes always opened up my inside. He smiled at me and ran around the room at impossible speed and destroyed all robots, causing a wind to blow my quills all around the cage. They weren at least to my mid stomach since I hadn't had them cut in a while. When Sonic stopped, I fixed my quills so that they were going down my back again. He broke the lock to my cage and helped me out while Eggman just sat there, surprised at what just happened.

"Are you okay?" asked Sonic. I nodded my head yes and he picked me up and ran outside to where the two tailed fox was.

"Hey, Sonic! How'd it go?"

"Okay. Eggman's eyes are wide open again."

"Haha. Who's this?" he asked looking at me. I wasn't able to speak yet from the surprise of how fast Sonic could go. Now I know why they call him Sonic.

"I don't know. I saw her get taken by Egghead's robots." I held on a little tighter, thinking of the memory. "Hey. It's okay. We won't hurt you."

"I know," I said. The fox's eyes widened at my voice. I don't know why but most people say i have a wonderful voice. I thought it was like anyone elses voice.

"What's your name?" asked Tails, slightly dumbfounded.

"Anna."

"Nice to meet you. I'm Miles Prower but you can call me Tails," he said holding out his hand.

"Nice to meet you too," I said shaking his hand.

"I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog," he said after setting me down.

"Thanks for helping me."

"Anytime. Do you know why he came after you?"

"I guess his robots are brainless. They thought I was you."

"You didn't seem all that scared until the end."

"I'm used to being captured by people like him," I said with sadness in my voice. I didn't wanto to think of my past at this moment but all my memories suddenly plummented me and tears started to form.

"No one helped you?" I shook my head no and sat on the ground, trying to push the memories away.

"I moved because the last villain didn't like my kind. Most drop me at high heights, others do much worse." I thought about the scars that were hiding under my clothes. One was showing a little bit on my arm and I covered it. Sonic and Tails leaned down to where I was.

"Your past is that bad?" asked Sonic lifting up my hand and seeing the scar.

"Yes."

"Sonic," said Tails. "We better go. I think Eggman is coming out of it." We all looked in Eggman's direction and saw him looking at me then Sonic. He started moving towards us.

"Time to go," said Sonic picking me up and getting on the plane. I've never road in one so I was a little scared as he set me down in the back seat while Tails sat up front. I looked up at Sonic, who was standing on the back, looking at Eggman as Tails started the plane up. Robots came out from the cruiser as we took off. The wind blew my quills back and I held on to the side, afraid I was going to fall out. Tails flew over to where the robots caught up to me and landed outside of the apartment building.

"Do you live near?" asked Tails.

"Right here," I said pointing to the apartments. He turned the plane off and twirled his tails together and flew out of the plane. I stood up only to sit back down to see how far the ground was. Sonic picked me up, much to my surprise, and jumped down next to Tails. He set me down and I held my arms out, keeping my balance, before setting them down to my side.

"Thanks again for helping me."

"No problem," said Sonic. "Call me if you need anything."

"Okay." I waved goodbye and walked up to my apartment, not noticing the eyes of robots on me as I went inside.
