"Darling! Over here!" I turned around and jumped in Cassie's arms. ' How much I missed her, it seemed unreal that I have her back!' " Oh Gosh, I'm so excited you're here! Are you going back? I hope not. Are you stayin' then? I love you! I missed you-" "Shush, everything is fine calm down Allie". Right, maybe I was overreacting. A little bit.
Inside the café we took a little table in a small corner and waited for the waitress.
"Soooo? What's going on in your life?" Cassie asked me leaning a bit forward.
"Nothing really, I have the same boring, monotone life as when we last saw each other, nothing has changed." I stopped because she inhaled a lot of air which meant that she was about to talk a lot in one bit, without breathing or she was just not so amused by the way I described my life. Both was possible.
" How can you little shit say something like this? How?! This is too much, I mean I can handle your few depressed moments but not that! How dare you talk like that about the life of my best friend? Your life isn't monotone or boring, your life is what you want it to be and just because you are not taking advantage of your life at the moment doesn't mean that you have to blame your life for that! No, your decisions are shaping your life and nothing else, your decisions may be influenced by some incidents, but you always have the choice to do something about it!" While she was talking she calmed herself down and was now looking into my eyes . "You are a beautiful human being as much as everyone else is, because we are all unique! So you can't compare your life with someone elses, because your view on life is different and what seems to be boring to some people may exactly be the piece that makes someone elses life peaceful, so no one has a boring life from his own point of view, but if he has he also has the ability to change it." She finished her speech. I was crying, because this was so lovely that I couldn't resist but cry. "No no don't cry, darling, I' m here, and I will stay" Cassie added pressing a kiss on my forehead.
'Why do I have this beautiful person in my life? She always seems to know what to do or say to make me feel better. The last month's were absolutely empty without her in my life' I stopped crying and just smiled at her, when the waitress came and destroyed this moment "What can it be?"
We just looked at her in silent and than looked at us, Cassie rolled with her eyes and I sighed.
"I would like to have a coffee without coffein and one of those lovely cupcakes which are supposed to be healthy" Cassie said with the language she always uses when she is speaking to strangers and smiled. Now was my turn, I tried to smile at the waitress. "For me it would be an Irish coffee and some of the biscuits with blueberries". She nodded added it to her notes and went with a " one moment please" to the kitchen.
We waited a moment 'til she was completely gone and than bursted out laughing " Her face when you started talking"" yeah and when we first said nothing" we laughed. "But I kind of feel sorry for her I bet she's new" I shared my thoughts. " Yes maybe she is, but now she won't be shocked or irritated by anything else" Cassie added, trying to see a positive part about our behaviour. When we finally calmed down and had our drinks and food, Cassie looked at me smiling her little evil smile.
"What?" I asked with a full mouth, expecting something I won't like.
"Nothing, I just wanted to ask if you have found someone or if you finally took a look and fell in love? Maybe a perfect romance story I could enjoy hearing?" I was horrified. My brain was throwing a wobbly and I tried to find something new to say. " How funny right? You speak to strangers and on phone like if you were the Queen and than you call me a little shit." I said nervously laughing. " Yes right? And you always try to speak normal English, but when you're excited you go back to your dialect, talking like the Highland girl you are. But don't try to distract me."
