Tony Stark-Where were you?

You had been tracked down by Steve and Natasha after half of the population just disappeared. Your boyfriend, Tony Stark hadn't contacted you since you saw him go up to the floating donut in New York. That was the last time you saw him. 

Steve told you he would come back and he would be okay, but every day that passes with no communication from him, makes your hope diminish even more. 

Natasha has been helping you train to keep your mind off things. Sparring and being in the gun range helps you get out your emotions in a healthy way. For Tony to be gone for so long is not like him. 

One day, Steve called everyone into the common room where meetings have been held since everyone disappeared. 

"What's up cap?" You asked, still tired from the sparring session you were just having with Carol. She was taking it easy on you but wow she can kick some butt. 

"Bruce found a transmission from somewhere in space. Y/N, it's from Tony." Steve said making your heart drop. 

"What?" You asked, letting your arms fall to your sides. "What do you mean it's from Tony?" You added walking closer to him. 

"Tony made a recording and we received it. He um, we don't know how long ago it was recorded." Steve explained and you nodded a little. 

"We have incoming Mr. Rodgers. Something just entered the atmosphere." Friday announced, making everyone's anxiety to rise. The last time something entered the atmosphere, they lost everything. 

Steve looked at the team before running out to the lawn to see what was about to touch-down. Everyone followed his lead, Carol and Natasha trying to comfort you as much as they could. 

As a spaceship touched down, the team tensed and geared up to fight whatever came out of it. The doors opened slowly and out stumbled Tony Stark and someone they didn't know. 

You gasped as you hurried past Steve, catching Tony before he fell. "Oh my god." You whispered as you held him close. 

"I'm right here sweetheart." Tony whispered as he held onto you. 

The team was silent and stunned, they had just received a transmission from Tony and now he's right in front of them. 

"Y/N, we should get him to the infirmary so Bruce can make sure he's okay." Steve gently said from behind you. 

"Just give us a minute." You said as you looked at the man you thought would never come back. "You're really back." You whispered with tears in your eyes. 

"I'm really here, and I would love to spend more time with you, but I haven't eaten in two days." Tony said making your eyes widen. 

"I um, yeah, let's get you inside." You said softly as you put one of his arms around your shoulder and put an arm around his waist. Rodey took the other side to help him into the building. 

After you helped Tony into the infirmary Bruce ushered everyone out, making you sit in the common room. 

Carol sat next to you and stayed silent for a minute before speaking. "He's back but you don't seem happy." She said making you look over at her. 

"I'm happy, but he was gone for a long time. He was gone and I had to pick up the pieces. He's here, in the infirmary, he's on Earth again. I missed him so much, but what if we can't pick up where we left off?" You asked her, wondering if Tony was going to be ready soon. 

Carol nodded a little and sighed gently. Before she could say anything, Bruce came in and motioned for you to follow him. "He's ready Y/N." He said. You stood up and walked with Bruce to where Tony was. 

You stopped in front of the door leading you to Tony. Bruce put a reassuring hand on your shoulder and gave you a small smile before opening the door for you. Seeing Tony in such a fragile state broke your heart. 

Silently, you walked into the room and sat next to Tony's bed. 

"Get up here, I missed being next to you." Tony said patting the area next to him. 

"Where were you Tony?" You asked, not moving from the chair. 

His expression fell and he looked down at his lap. "You know I love you, but I really don't want to talk about it yet." He whispered, not ready to face the horror of what he experienced. 

"Where's Peter?" You asked, seeing the tears well up in his eyes you took a deep breath. You got up and sat next to him before wrapping your arms around him. "It's okay, you don't need to talk about it." You whispered as he wrapped his arms around your torso, resting his head on your chest. 

The two of you stayed there for awhile, just being in each others company. 

"I missed you." You whispered softly. When Tony didn't respond you looked down to find him sleeping. You smiled gently and continued to run your hand through his hair and hold him tightly. 

Soon after that, you fell asleep as well. Steve and Carol came in to see if Tony was ready to talk about what happened after he followed Thanos' henchmen into the donut. Carol smiled gently and looked at Steve. "Let's leave them be, they deserve to have time together." She said as Tony woke up slowly. 

"Hey capsicle and...new girl." Tony whispered softly as he blinked a little as his eyes adjusted to the light. "Not that I didn't miss you, and not that there isn't a lot we need to talk about, but I would like to spend some time with my girl/boy." He added as he shifted to be able to look at you. 

Steve smiled a little and nodded. "Just wanted to say welcome back Tony." He said and softly and walked out of the room. Carol smiled and nodded before waving a little and walking out of the room. 

Tony smiled and looked over to you, who was still sleeping. He kissed your forehead softly before putting his head back on your shoulder, finally feeling safe again.
