I was going to continue writing the end to the next chapter in my utapri fic, but I accidentally clicked shuffle on all of my songs instead of the utapri playlist and, welp, the first track to the More Blood osts started playing and I couldn't stop thinking about Ruki so this happened whoops. (I have no regrets) :'3

"Eve," the black haired vampire said once he was close enough for me to hear him, "what is it you wanted to tell me."

Looking to into those ice cold blue eyes of his, I couldn't help but smile as the full moon continued to rise high up into the night sky above us. "It's a lovely night, isn't it?" I avoided his question with a question of my own.

Sighing, Ruki sat down beside me on the bench outside in the back courtyard of his family's mansion, the rose garden large and in full bloom, the individual flowers swaying some in the wind. I watch them instead of looking to the vampire beside me. I don't doubt he'll have a positive reaction to what I'm going to tell him, but, this will change plenty of things for not only us but for his family as well and the last thing I would want is to bring them more trouble from the Sakamaki's...

          But, it can't be helped.

"You really shouldn't bother me for nothing, livestock. Now tell me what it is you've come here for." Ruki said as he crossed one long leg over the other, the book given to him by his father resting on the bench in between us as he keeps a hand placed firmly on its cover, almost as if he's protecting it. "It's only a matter of time before your owners come looking for you, and you remember what happened the last time they found you here, don't you?"

My shoulders slumped ever so slightly at his words. "I... I remember." How could I not? Yuma and Ruki himself had been beaten horribly and if it wasn't for me agreeing to return with the Sakamaki's, Azusa and Kou probably would have been killed. "It's just, I don't want to live with them anymore." I murmured.

The feeling of Ruki's eyes lingering over myself washed over me. "You wish to run away? Do you truly believe they'll allow you to just leave like this after putting in so much effort into making you their perfect, obedient pet?"

I shook my head. "They're not bad people, Ruki. They really aren't. It's just- you remember when you said one night that you and your brothers can't become Adam by yourself but rather Eve would choose who she wishes for her Adam to be, don't you?"

"That was nearly a full year ago, livestock."

"Yes, well, I think I've chosen who I wish to become my Adam and none of the Sakamaki's happen to be him."

A calm silence fell around us as a strong wind blew past, the rose bushes rustling some as petals float along its current. It's a beautiful sight. In the dead of night, rose petals gently fly through the air as a human and a half-blooded vampire sit side by side on a bench together, both knowing exactly what's happening between them but neither wanting to be the first to say just what that something is. If they say it, then it's officially confirmed and their fates are truly sealed. There's no going back if they decide to continue down this path together.

"So, you've finally chosen an Adam then?" Ruki spoke up softly, his voice deep and soothing as always. The sound of him talking never fails to put my nerves at ease despite being scared for what's about to come. I couldn't imagine living in this secret world filled with creatures of the night without him by my side.
