"Are you sure your brother is going to be okay with this? I don't want burden him."

"There is nothing more that my brother loves than me. He will do anything for me and I want you safe. You're my best friend and you don't deserve what has happened to you."

Sighing Everleigh relaxes into the cabs leather seats. Everleigh isn't one to talk about her problems. She prefers to keep things to herself and knowing that her best friend just had to up and leave her life upsets her.

Everleigh has never been to California before. The farthest she has ever been west is Michigan where she grew up.

The cab driver notifies them that they will be there in a few minutes. Everleigh doesn't notice the driver looking at her a little longer than necessary.

-

Arriving at their destination the girls get out of the yellow car. Syd pays before waving to the cabbie.

Taking in the gate and fence that looks to be wrapping around the whole property, Everleigh can't help but feel intimidated.

Syd starts walking towards the gate, noticing the man standing in front of it with a cigarette hanging from his mouth.

"Heya," Syd greets.

"Can I help you," the gruff man asks with suspicion wondering what two girls, that don't look like whores, are doing at a place like this.

"Yup," Syp says popping the p, "I'm here to see Psycho."

Throughout their conversation Everleigh is halfway hiding behind her friend, scared out of her mind of the beast that Syd is talking too. She is confused at why Syd just called her brother Psycho when she is pretty sure her brothers name is Chase.

"What's your business with the Prez?"

"He is my brother, not that it's any of your business, you have five seconds to take me to him before I kick your ass."

The man chuckles as if that is the funniest thing he has ever heard. A woman that size? Take him down? Yeah right. He then proceeds to take out his phone.

"Hey Prez, I got two girls out here saying they know you. One says she's your sister."

Syd stands there with a hand on her hip and an annoyed look on her face. She then turns to her friend to maybe help calm her fears.

"I know he looks scary doll, but you know I won't let anyone hurt you here. I wouldn't bring you somewhere that you could get hurt."

Sighing Everleigh responds, "I know I just feel safer back here." Everleigh lightly giggles at the action of her hiding behind her friend.

Interrupting the girls conversation the biker grunts out for them to follow him.

The gate opens and they walk through. Inside there is a big building. To the right of the building is a lot of motorcycles. The group walks up to the building and they enter.

-

Everleigh is the last to walk in, the room is full of big men. This freaks her out and she immediately latches onto Syds arm. Looking down she follows her friend until they come to a stop. Deciding it is safer to not look up Everleigh listens to them while staring at the hardwood floors that seem like they need to be scrubbed.

"Hey big bro,"

"Hey Sydney! Not that I'm not glad to see you but what are you doing here. You never told me why you were coming."

Syd notices that all eyes from the men sitting next to her brother at the bar are on her and her friend.

"I need some help."

"With what?"

Looking around at all the men staring at her she realizes that Everleigh is probably freaking out. She immediately grabs her friends hand. He movement draws her brothers attention to Everleigh.

"Who is this? You know I don't like strangers," Her brothers says with light anger.

"First of all don't talk to me like that. Second this isn't no stranger, it's Everleigh and third can we talk in private?"

Rolling his eyes at the first statement he asks, "Everleigh from back in Michigan?"

"Yeah, now can we talk," Syd cuts in before he can say anything else.

"Sure. Blade. Stick." He stands up and motions to the two men sitting next to him. The five of them then head down a hallway and into a office. In the office there is a wood rectangular table with chairs all around it. The all take a seat.

"So what do you need help with?" Psycho asks Syd getting straight to the point.

Syd glances at Everleigh to see if she was going to start. Seeing that her best friend is still looking down she responds,

"I need protection for Everleigh. Her asshole of a husband is dangerous."

"We're going to need more than that. Why does she need us and not the cops? I ain't stupid and as much as I love you, I need to know what we're getting ourselves into." He purposefully includes the club because his help is the clubs help as well.

Everleigh realizes it would be better if she explains why she needs help. Her anxiety starts to get really bad at the aspect of explaining her weakest moments to a bunch a tough bikers. She clutches her hands together to stop them from shaking then clears her throat.

"My husband wants to hurt me. He is friends with multiple police officers. He is a bad man," Everleigh says softly. The three men barely hear the timid woman. Syd notices all of their eyes soften slightly at her friends voice.

"I just need you to help while I go back to New York and deal with my apartment and my work. After I'm done I will come back and get Everleigh and we will probably travel for awhile. 'Till we find somewhere to settle down." Syd has been thinking of what to do after she got to her brothers for a bit. She decided that they can't stay with him forever and they'll need a plan of action. She has some stuff to do back in New York before she leaves then she's all for traveling with her best friend till they find a place to stay permanently.

"Can I talk to you privately Syd," Psycho asks, shooting her a look.

Syd nods, then whispers to Everleigh that she'll be right back.

-

It's just Stick, Blade and Everleigh left in the room. Stick notices her shaking and realizes how scared she is, he nudges Blade and nods towards the girl. The VP observes her before speaking,

"You okay darlin'?"
