It is about four in the afternoon when Everleigh awakens. There is a blonde nurse in blue scrubs changing her IV.

"What happened?" Everleigh croaks out despite her parched throat's objection.

Retrieving her a glass of water the nurse responds,"You don't remember?"

Thinking about it for a minute, she gasps, recalling the events that occurred.

"How is the baby?" She asks in a panic.

"The doctor will be in soon to inform you of the extent of your injuries." The nurse has a grim look as she exits the room.

Everleigh knows what that means, she used to be a nurse. She starts to sob hysterically. Tear after tear fall down her face. She is heartbroken. Breathing is getting harder as she gasps for air in between her wails. The doctor walks in with the same grim expression confirming her worst fears.

"Mrs. Spearman I'm so sorry for your loss. Your baby didn't make it," clearing his throat he continues, "Your injuries were quite extensive, you have a broken arm, three broken ribs, and a fractured cheekbone. As well as many older injuries in the process of healing."

By now Everleigh has calmed down quite a bit and is numb. Not fully comprehending what the doctor is telling her.

He killed my baby. Wait, what happened to him? Was he arrested? I'm scared he was going to kill me. I wish he did.

"Mrs. Spearman-"

"Everleigh, my name is Everleigh," The dejected woman tells him monotonously.

"Everleigh, the police have a few questions for you, when you're ready."

"Send them in." She replies without emotion.

As the doctor leaves he shoots Everleigh a sympathetic glance. He then goes up to the officers and lets them know she is ready for their questioning.

The police officers enter the sterilized room with straight faces. There are two officers, one blonde, with light blue eyes. The other the complete opposite he had brown hair with green eyes. They seemed quite tense.

"Mrs. Spearman, we are here to ask you a few questions about the attack. Would that be okay?"

Nodding her head, she makes a motion with her hand telling them to continue.

"Who attacked you?"

Everleigh goes to respond but remembers a conversation she had with Jack a few years ago.

-

"If you ever tell anyone what I do, I will kill everyone you love, Sydney included. Then I will proceed to make your life a living hell. Plus you know I love you, I do this because I do. Nobody will understand what a worthless whore you are and the discipline you require. How else will you learn?" He explains

"I know baby. I know." I respond, holding my tears at bay.

-

That night was one of the worst night of her life. That was the first night her ever "shared" her.

Shaking her head, trying not to cry she responds out of fear,

"I'm not sure, somebody knocked on my door and when I answered it was a man. He just attacked me."

"Did you see what he looked like?" The blonde officer asks.

"No, sorry."

"It's alright. Do you know what he was wearing or anything?"

"No, and I don't have any intentions of pressing charges so it doesn't matter. It was nice meeting you." Everleigh replies, ending the conversation.

Receiving the hint the officers take their leave and walk out of the antiseptic room.

Not even two minutes later the blonde nurse walks in.

Maybe I should call Syd and get her advice. I'll come clean about everything. She is my best friend she should know what I should do. Jack won't show up he never does when I end up in the hospital. Although he might show up. This is a different circumstance because he has never tried to kill me before. He's a very unpredictable person.

"E-excuse me," Everleigh clears her throat, successfully getting the nurses attention.

"Yes?" She turns looking up from the chart making eye contact.

"Do you have a phone I could borrow?"

"Sure thing," the blonde pulls a phone out of her pocket, "here you go, just swipe and click the phone icon at the bottom." The nurse walks out giving her privacy.

The phone rings a few times before Syd answers,

"Hello?"

"Hey Syd, it's Everleigh. Do you think you could come to Bellevue?"

"Sure. What happened?"

"I'll tell you when you get here, please hurry."

Hanging up Everleigh waits for the nurse to come back so she can return the phone.

-

About ten minutes later Syd shows up looking frazzled.

Gasping at Everleigh's appearance she asks,

"What happened?"

"Oh Syd," she sobs, the damn breaking.

Syd tries to calm the fragile girl by rubbing her back and hugging her. She cries for a while before gaining her composure.

"Sorry."

"It's okay doll. So what happened?"

Everleigh then goes on to explain all the abuse she has endured. Not going into full detail but enough for Syd to get the gist.

"That duck licking cow mooing son of a bitch," Syd rages.

"Dolly you didn't deserve that. Please tell me you're leaving him."

"I want to but I'm scared. I couldn't tell the cops he did it. You know he is a well-known lawyer and well liked. From the people I have met at parties and stuff that are his friends, it is not safe. He has people everywhere, above and below the law. I'm not safe anywhere because he will find me. I want a way so bad though. He killed my baby." She sobs feeling hopeless.

"I think I may have a solution. You remember my brother?"

"Yeah."

"Well he owns a club that I know can protect you. At least temporarily til we can get our affairs in order."

"No, I can't put your brother and his friends in danger. The only reason I can ensure your safety is going back to him, even though he will most likely kill me."

"No, trust me they can protect you and me. They aren't anybody you need to worry about getting hurt by Jack."

Before Everleigh can protest Syd is already on the phone.

"Hey Psych, I need your help."
