The tom looked horrified. "I-I... You think I would kill my best friend from our apprenticeship days? And now Puddlepaw? MY DAUGHTER?!" he cried.
Leafwhisper looked at him sympathetically as Waveheart lead the tom to Duskstar's position, forcing him to stare into the leader's judging amber eyes. Jaystorm and Nightriver sat in a tense position as they awaited their friend's judgement. Littlewhisker gulped as she remembered being in the same place, Shadeflight trying to comfort his mate. Sunpaw stopped crying, glaring at the leader.
Blossompool sat distraughtly in a far away corner, eyes on the floor, numb. "My daughter..." she repeated in a constant mantra.
"Silence!" Duskstar snapped. "It's your call, FlickerClan. Is Marshstep innocent or guilty?"
Proof of Marshstep's Innocence:
- He had no quarrel with any of the accused cats, especially since Cloudstripes has been his best friend since apprenticeship
- He's not the only cat with Puddlepaw's discovered fur colours
(Puddlepaw died in the same area as her investigation, the murderer forgot to get rid of the fur tufts so you can assume they found her evidence I'M A BAD WRITER OK :'D)
- He is quite a gentle cat in nature and generally work-focused
- PUDDLEPAW IS HIS DAUGHTER... Your verdict is to choose if he'd be cruel enough to kill her...
Proof of Marshstep's guilt:
- He has a mix of light and dark fur like the apprentice discovered
- He doesn't share any ginger or grey tufts like Bumblekit and Cloudstripes
- He's very strong and could overpower most cats if he wanted to
