Mine (Bucky Barnes)

Chapter 3

When Talia woke up her phone was ringing. She looked at Bucky who was still asleep. She grabbed her phone and looked at the caller ID and answered the call.

Talk to me.

I looked at the photos and making them more clear it's not Bucky. I ran the photo through facial recognition and the guy's name is Zemo.

His name sound familiar.

He was at Sokovia when Ultron attacked. His wife, son, and father all died at Sokovia.

OK. So he probably blames the Avengers for it. If the bombing was his doing he's trying to split the Avengers apart.

Rogers just called me. A battle is happening at the airport. Talia you and Bucky gotta get there and watch them. I'll pick up Strange and we'll meet you guys at the airport.

You'll know where we are 'cause you'll see Bucky's metal arm.

We'll be there soon. Once you see them do not engage just tell us what you see. Do you guys still have your comms? Strange you too.

Bucky and I do. What channel?

I do. What channel?

Channel 12. If Tony's team will have channel 8 then Steve's team has 10 so we have to take 12.

OK. We'll see you at the airport.

Talia ended the call and sighed. She walked over to her bag and pulled out her battle outfit.

"Talia? What are you doing," Bucky asked.

"Fury called. The Avengers split so it's Steve vs. Tony. He sent me the location of where they're going to fight. You don't have to go but I'm going just 'cause the person who was really behind the bombing is also going to be at the airport and I want to end him," Talia said.

Bucky stood up and walked up to Talia.

"Some memories come back?"

"I don't know what you're talking about Buck."

"Talia don't do that."

"Don't do what Bucky?"

"Don't avoid the topic, Talia. I get it that you don't want to talk but you can't keep everything bottled up forever. Sooner or later you'll burst from everything that you've kept bottled up."

"Some memories came back. The man who did the bombing I've seen him before. At our HYDRA base in DC. He was there. God, I hated that base. I hated it even more when they would put the guard in your mouth and shock you. After the last time it happened we decided to run. After we saved Steve."

"I proposed to you a week later. A week after the proposal Daniella was born. And about two years later I am still yet to say you are my wife."

"Fury wants us to live in New York City. Where in New York I don't know. But he'll help us get a safe house and he'll put us on opposite missions. Meaning if I have to take a mission for three days you'll stay home with Dani for the three days I'm gone. If you have to take a mission for three days I'll stay home with Dani while you're gone."

"Do we get days off?"

"Yes. Holidays, Dani's birthday, your birthday, my birthday, and if we want to do family dinners then we can but Fury wants to be invited. Or even if, to us, it feels like we're taking too many missions then we let Fury know and he'll let us take as much time off as we want."

"I'll deal with it. Let's get ready. We gotta get to the airport. And stop the Avengers from splitting up."

They both got changed into their suits and walked outside to the bike. Bucky got on the seat first so Talia sat behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist. By the time they got to the airport Fury, Strange, and Maria were already there.

"Top of the airport. We'll see them. Most likely Rogers will go for the quinjet," Fury said.

"Let's go. We watch. We wait. If anyone of you thinks something is going to go wrong tell me or if you spot Zemo tell me," Talia said.

Using her magic Talia was able to lift everybody to the top of the airport except Strange 'cause he used mystic arts. They all laid on their stomachs watching Steve and Tony stand across from each other. From left to right it was Maria, Fury, Strange, Bucky, and Talia.

"Maria what do you see," Talia asked.

"They're just standing there. Natasha, black suit, is clenching her fist," Maria said.

"Fury do you see Zemo," Bucky asked.

"Negative on---wait wait wait. I got a black truck about 20 maybe 30 feet away from them. Someone just got out of the car. It's Zemo. I got eyes on Zemo. I repeat I got eyes on Zemo," Fury replied.

"We can't get to him without letting the Avengers know we're here," Talia sighed.

"We may have to let them know we're here. Talia, we need to fight Zemo. Even if it means we let the Avengers know we're here. You don't have to show yourself but we do have to fight," Bucky said.

"We go. Strange can you open a portal near Zemo?"

"Yes, but they may see the sparks," Strange said.

Strange stood up and moved his right hand in a circular motion opening a portal. Talia went through the portal first then Bucky who was followed by Maria, Fury, and Strange. Talia stood face to face with Zemo right hand on her gun her left hand behind her back holding a pen.

"Helmut Zemo. Born June 16th, 1978. You join Sokovain Armed Forces and an elite military unit called EKO Scorpion. You lived a happy life with your wife, son, and father until 2015 when Ultron destroyed Sokovia. It took you three days to find them. And when you did your father was holding your wife and son. Terror still frozen on their faces. I know what it feels like to lose someone," Talia said.

Zemo pulled out a gun and pointed it at Talia. Strange had orange around his wrist, Fury and Maria pulled out their guns, Bucky grabbed the pen from behind Talia and turned it into a sword, and Talia pointed her gun at Zemo.

"How do you know what it feels like to lose somebody you love," Zemo asked.

"HYDRA created these things called Winter Soldiers. They used the first Winter Soldier to kill my mom. My dad was a dick so I didn't really didn't care that he died. That was December 26th, 1991. I was young. My brother is 45 years old. I'm 30 years old. That's a fifteen-year difference between us. When my brother was 17 he found out our parents died. I was two years old. I didn't know what happened. The last thing I remember about my mom was that she was singing me a lullaby so I could go to sleep."

"Do you know who she died? Who did it?"

"I do know how she died and who did it. I won't say who did it but I will say how she died. Someone choked her. Long enough to cut off her oxygen and hard enough they broke her trachea."

"Did you know that the man to your daughter did it?"

"I did know. And I forgave him. For him, it will take time to forgive himself. He can't fall asleep without seeing my moms face as she took her last breath. But I know it wasn't his fault. I wanted to blame him so badly for killing my mom but I couldn't just for the fact that I know he didn't want to kill my mom. It was HYDRA's fault. HYDRA made Bucky kill my mom. They also made Tony, my brother, have a vision of everyone dying which led to him creating Ultron. Bucky killing my mom was HYDRA. Tony creating Ultron was HYDRA. Zemo just put the gun down OK? Just put the gun down."

Zemo looked at Fury, Strange, Maria, Bucky, and Talia before he put the gun down and got on the ground with his hands behind his head. Talia walked up to him and put the cuffs on him as she read him his rights. Fury grabbed him and took him to the quinjet. Talia walked up to Bucky and wrapped her arms around his neck as she kissed Bucky. They had just pulled apart when Talia was ripped away from Bucky into another set of arms and Bucky was sent to the ground holding his ribs with his metal hand.
