AS LIVIA STEPPED INSIDE THE SCHOOLHOUSE, SHE set her coat and basket aside in the cloakroom and made her way to Anne and Diana, who were accompanied by her twin and Cole. Isaac was at the back of the class trying to make some conversation with Prissy Andrews. As she neared closer to her table, she saw Theo talking casually to Diana whilst Cole was busying himself with styling Anne's hair in the most beautiful of ways. Just as she was about to compliment the artistic boy's work and ask if he could do the same for her hair, Mr Phillips beat her to it.

"Cole Mackenzie!" The teacher yelled with sudden aggressiveness which caused Livia to jump slightly from where she stood. The whole class fell quite at the sound of Mr Phillips' aggravated tone. Then with a more calmer but still hostile voice he said, "Since you seem to have such... feminine proclivities, we shall indulge your taste of it this morning-- You can sit with the girls."

The students gasped and giggled at the order, and Livia observed Cole turn a slight shade of pink. She sighed under her breath in sympathy as she rubbed his shoulder comfortingly. At this moment, she had never hated Mr Phillips more. Cole then hesitantly stood to his feet as he searched for an empty space, and Livia guided him to sit beside her. Smiling gratefully at his best friend's sister, he slid into the chair beside her before shooting his teacher a vague look of distaste.

But what surprise the whole class was Theo's actions. The sixteen year old stormed over to the side where the boys sat, and he snatched up both his and Cole's school supplies, before storming back over to where Cole was now situated. Slamming down their belongings on top of the wooden desks, Theo slid a spare chair over to the edge of the table, staring Mr Phillips directly in the eyes as the seat screeched loudly. He then simply plopped into the chair and crossed his feet as he looked at him expectantly.

Livia was shocked at what her brother just did. Never in her sixteen years of life had she expected Theo to ever act out of spite, yet he just did. He couldn't have picked a better time to come out of his anti-social shell than the time where he needed to defend his best friend, and Livia never felt prouder. The brunette girl shielded the lower part of her face as she attempted to hide the smirk which spread across her plump pink lips.

"Thank you," she heard Cole whispered, glancing to his side to where the black haired boy sat. Theo simply shook his head as if to say that it was nothing. To Mr Phillips, it was anything but that.

"Theodore Crawford," the man with the terrible mustache seethed. "What on Earth do you think you're doing?"

"I'm sitting, sir," Theo replied nonchalantly as he leaned his chin onto the palm of his hand is if he were bored. Livia winced slightly as she saw Mr Phillips tense at her brother's movement.

"I'm aware," Mr Phillips replied, eerily calm. "Get back to your seat this instant!"

"I'm fine here, thank you, sir," Theo respectfully declined as he leaned back into his seat in attempt to make himself comfortable. It was impossible, considering that the chairs were made from hard wood which made you ache merely minutes after you've sat down.
