Light 'Em Up

The front door slammed shut. Leah flinched at the sound. "Where the hell have you been?"Zach said,getting up from the couch. "When you assholes were all asleep,I went to go get ya some knifes. The mall looked infested with zombies and clickers. If we fire a gun then it will bounce of the walls,and attract more. Here,and I don't want ya stealin' my machete." She directed that to Zach. Julie gave Zach,Alex, Charlie, and Kaitlyn a knife or something sharp. "Um what about me?" Leah asked. Julie turned around "You don't need one. Nicole's gonna stay here while me,Jack,Zach, Alex,Charlie, and Katie go to that gun shop and check out the mall." Leah sighed and stomped her way up the stairs. Nicole let out a big sigh and pushed past Julie. "Alright... Let's get going." She said.

Jack's P.O.V

I followed behind the group. Looking over my shoulder every second." Guys,go on ahead!" Julie yelled. She stopped and waited for me. "Thanks." I mumbled. "For what?" She responed. "Keeping me alive. I probably would've died back at that mall.Me and Nicole,were starving. I can't count how many times those things almost killed us. Nicole found me and Aiden. She was with her family so we were a pretty good group. But her dad got bit one night,I shot him. Her mom got bit the next,I shot her too. Then her brother. He wanted me to shoot him,he told me 'Keep her alive. When she thinks that if she has to kill herself just to see me,mom and dad, tell her we are always there. In her heart.' I hesitated at first but then I did it." I took a deep breath,trying to hold back a tear. Julie put her arm around my shoulder and pulled me into a hug. "It's alright. We all have to make desicions in this world. There harder now. But you made the right one. " I smiled and wiped me eye. "You guys comin,or what?" I heard Alex yell. Julie rolled her eyes andme and raced down to the doors. "So,this is were you guys were" Kaitlyn mumbled. "Yeah,I don't know how many times I just wanted to have a bullet for a snack,then take a really long nap after." I mumbled,ajusting my back pack. "What are we waiting for? Lets go!" Alex yelled pushing the doors open. Julie tapped my shoulder as we walked inside and whispered "Be strong man. You can do this" I smiled and pulled out the knife from my pocket. "Guys,let's go in this one. Make a plan." Julie said.

Charlie nodded and followed her into the creepy Subway. Blood smeared around and on the doors,and just everywhere. I could hear a zombie's groan. We trned the corner and half of a zombie laid in the corner. Julie pulled her knife out and planted it into the head. "Shut up,stupid bastard" she muttered. "Alright,so two of the stores have a second level. There's gotta be some zombies up there. Jack?" I looked up. "Me and Nicole got half,maybe most of them in one store. And I think the others had all gotten downstairs." Zach sighed. "Why don't we all just go in groups of three? Julie,you,me (Zarlie shippers are flipping out) and Jack. Kaitlyn, Alex and Charlie got together." Julie nodded "Okay, you guys go left,we'll go right. And we meet back at the entrance." We all agreed and went our ways. When Kaitlyn made her way toward another Julie stopped her "Hey,be safe" Kaitlyn smiled and nodded. When Julie made her way toward us I heard Zach mumble  something. "Will you stop flirting?" Julie sent him a glare and pushed him into the pillar he was leaning on. "Shut the fuck up,bastard" She gritter through her teeth. Zach pushed her away. We made out way down to the far right end of the mall. The biggest store in the mall was there. Me and Nicole were able to close the sercuity gates before any zombies couldnt get out. But we did lose Aiden in there I think. I remeber him saying he'd be back in 5 minutes. Minutes turned to a hour. A hour turned to five. "How the hell do we get in?" Zach said,sounding furustrated. Idiot,I thought. "Ugh,it's easy. One of us has to go down to the control room. Once the-" SMASH! "Or we could smash the window,thats good to I guess." Julie laid on the ground,groaning and cussing. "Shit...I think I broke my ass" she lightly chuckled. I laughed. Zach stepped through the hole Julie made and smirked. "Then don't do stupid stuff like that" He stated. I sent him a glare once I got through the hole and helped her up. "You okay?" I asked. Julie shook her head,brushing the glass off her pants.
