A Big Suprise

Zach woke up that evening. Lucas was still driving and Julie was trying her best to stay awake. He stumbled to the front of the bus. It was going at a slow pace. "Morning numb nuts' Julie said over her shoulder. Zach rolled his eyes and sat on the couch next to the window. "Have either of you slept?" Zach rubbed his eyes. "I fell a sleep for maybe a hour"Lucas stared out on to the road. The highway. Soon the light began to shot through the windows,causing everyone to wake up. "Stupid fucking sun!" Kaitlyn yelled as she covered her face. Leah laughed. Zach got from the bed and walked back to Charlie's room. Charlie was still asleep. He decided to leave him be."Let's check these cars." Julie said getting up and walking off the RV. Lucas and Zach did the same. Leah stayed on the RV along with Katie. She needed to get some rest. The whole group did. Julie found some stuff in one car. Some ammo,clothing and a few. Not few. Lots of bodies. The group found some more stuff and carried it back to the RV. Zach found a family in one car. He looked away and sighed. "Pretty creepy,right?" Maria walked up behind him. Zach nodded. "Hey,um,sorry about being a bitch yesterday. It's just thought I couldn't trust you guys. But,you're good people." Zach smiled. "I know what you mean." He mumbled,looking through the stuff. "Guys! Over here!" Lucas yelled. He was standing behind a closed truck. "Think there's nerds in there?" Maria said. Lucas shrugged. He slowly pulled the back up and a bunch of weapons were in it. Along with water. Lucas jumped inside and laughed "Hell yeah! All the stuff we need!" He grabbed some stuff and walked over to the RV. Everyone,but Charlie,began grabbing stuff. They would put it in the RV and race out to get more. Julie stopped and leaned against a car. Zach walked over to her and sat next to her. "So...how's Charlie?" She asked looking over at the other lanes. Zach looked at her and mumbled "Good...I hope." He glanced over at the RV and placed his face in his hands. "Hey,chin up. He's gonna be fine,trust me." She knelt down and patted his shoulder. He nodded and continued bringing stuff to the RV. Julie climbed the ladder on top of the RV and kept a eye out for zombies. She held her gun out just in case. Lucas,on the ground,looked for zombies. He held up his gun when he saw one. Then another. And another. A herd. "Guys! Get back to the RV! NOW! GO!" He yelled as he grabbed Maria's hand. Everyone glanced up the road and ran for the car. Zach didn't hear him. But he did hear the door slam shut. He saw the zombies and hid behind a car. His chest beating.

Lucas's P.O.V

I grabbed Maria's arm and pulled her over to the car and got her inside. "Get everyone inside Charlie's room. Close the blinds and get on the ground,now!" I order. I waited for Kaitlyn to get back inside before slamming the door shut. I laid on the ground across from Kaitlyn. I saw her holding Leah's mouth. Tears streamed down Leah's face as she breathed heavily. I sighed softly and leaned my head against the wall. "Shit! I forgot to get Zach!" I said. I reached for the door but Maria pulled me down. "No! He can protect himself! He has a gun,or he could die,like Daniel!" I noticed the anger and tears in her eyes. I pulled her head close to my chest and kissed her hair. "Shhh....it's fine...." I mumbled. Her tears soaked my shirt. "I love you..." I whispered into her ear. I noticed a red blush form on her cheeks. "I love you too,Lucas James.". I held her hand close to mine in the darkness.

Zach's P.O.v

I knelt behind a car and felt my chest beating. I heard the groans and moans from the zombies come closer. I could see one coming right for me. I stood up and stab it's head,making it fall to the ground. I pulled the body on top of me and waited. I could hear a girl scream. She sounded about 12 or something. 

"Sir? Are you alive?" 

I opened my eyes and saw a girl with shoulder length hair over me."Oh my gosh.. Have you seen my mother? She said she was heading into town for supplies and hasn't been back in two months or so. Please help me" She pleaded. I lifted the zombie off me and looked over the hood of the car and frowned. "Fuck. Get under the car." She looked over and did as I said. She didn't have a weapon. "That's a bad word." She whispered to herself. "Well,if you get in this group,you better get used to it." I looked and saw feet walking past the car. I tensed up and gripped my knife. We sat ther for five minutes before I heard a scream. I looked back at the RV and noticed another body. Jack! I saw two feet run quickly past me. Followed by some zombies. The person fell right next to the car Jack was under. The zombies began tearing at the flesh. After a bite,one zombie looked up and saw Jack. The zombie began to bite at Jack. Jack pushes it away and runs down the highway.
