Finally Free

I just finished buttoning up Mary's shirt when I feel two arms wrap around my waist, and lips on my neck. Oh, that feels nice. I move my hand to reach back and grab Rami's hair, until I realize he's wearing a wig. Damn, I don't want the makeup department mad at me. When he resurfaces, he pecks my cheek and spins me around to face him.

"I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to do that," Rami says in Freddie's accent. I can't help but notice he's also in his costume; just a silk robe and black underwear. We're about a half-hour away from shooting the first Mary/Freddie apartment scene, where Freddie plays the beginning of Bohemian Rhapsody upside down.

"It's still very hard for me to wrap my head around this," I admit, reaching up to trace that fantastic jawline of his. He rubs the small of my back reassuringly.

"Well, you're just going to have to get used to the fact that I want you, Jennifer," he kisses my nose, "And no one else."

I bite my lip and smile - he makes me feel like a teenager all over again. Granted, I am twenty-five so it wasn't that long ago, but still. I lean up to kiss him and he meets me halfway.

"Oh god," Joe groans, not yet in his Deacon costume. "Are you guys going to be making out all the time now?"

I pull back to answer him. "Why, are you jealous?"

Joe walks up to me, looking solemn. "Yes, Jen. I am in love.. with Rami." He turns at the last second to look at Rami, who just pecks Joe on the cheek.

"Sorry, my darling," Rami answers still in character. "But I've already got the love of my life," he says as he pulls me into his chest.

Joe huffs, comically. "Figures. Guess I'll just settle for Ben, then."

Ben happens to walk in as he says this, eating a banana. He takes off his sunglasses, pretending to look offended. "Joseph Mazzello, are you settling for me? I thought we had something special!"

We all laugh, making Gwilym groan when he walks in. "God, what did I miss this time?" He plops into a chair.

Ben sits down as well, finishing his banana. "I just found out my life is a lie."

Joe hugs him from behind. "Ben found out I like Rami more than him."

"Ah," Gwil says before taking a sip of coffee. "So nothing groundbreaking then." I laugh as Ben throws his banana peel at Gwil. "Hey!" He jumps up, brushing himself off. "You are so lucky I haven't changed into Brian's stuff yet," he points accusingly at Ben.

At that the production crew announces when and what scenes we are shooting next, and just like that we're all up and moving to get ready.

From just beyond the beaded curtain, I ask, "So the new name is 'Queen'?"

I start buttoning up my shirt as Freddie answers, "As in her royal highness. And because it's outrageous, and I can't think of anyone more outrageous than me." He's sprawled out on the mattress we keep in front of the upright piano. I laugh at that, flopping onto the bed next to him as I finish with the buttons.
