The High School Dropout - Zach Herron

Chapter 2

"DAD?! WHAT IS THIS?!" i saw him kissing a girl.

"GO AWAY NOW!" he ran to the door and pushed me out so he could close it.

I opened the paper Zach handed me. His number was on it. I called him.

(Z- Zach, A: Alexia)

Z: "Hello who is this?"

A: "It's me Alexia"

Z: "Alexia are you ok? Are you crying?"

A: "No i'm not ok, and yes i'm crying."

Z: "Come to my place."

A: "are you sure?"

Z: "yes, why not? i'll text you the address."

Zach hung up and texted me the address. I didn't have a car so i took my bike and went to his house.

I knocked on the door and Zach opened. My eyes were red and puffy.

"Come here." Zach hugged me tight.

He introduced me to the other boys, but i already knew them of course. Me and the boys watched some movies. When everybody fell asleep i tried to sneak out without anyone hearing me. I went back home and went to bed.

The next morning i woke up and realized school was started again. I took a shower and chose an outfit, i ate breakfast, brushed my teeth and grabbed my bag.

"Bye mom" i walked to the garage.

"Bye hunny have a great day." she said.

I took my bike and went to school. I totally forgot Zach was going to my school too until i saw him. He was with a few friends and didn't even saw me. I walked past him and he still didn't saw me.

"He totally forgot me, i knew this would happen" i thought by myself.

I went to my locker and grabbed the books i needed for first period. Someone touched my shoulder. I turned around and saw Zach.

"Hi Alexia." maybe he didn't forgot me.

"Hi Zach..." i said.

"Why did you sneaked out yesterday?" he asked.

I knew he would ask it, but i didn't even know why i went home.

"ehm my mom needed me." i lied.

Before he could say something one of his friends came.

"Bro why are you talking to her?" His friend asked.

"Something wrong with that?" Zach said.

"Zach i think you shouldn't talk to me in school. And also outside school..." i walked away.

"ALEXIA?!" Zach screamed but i kept walking.

I didn't want to tell Zach i was the nerd of the school the past few years. In the summer vacation i got rid of my glasses and braces. People still saw me as the nerd of the school even without my braces, glasses and good grades. People called me nerd because i always got good grades and never failed. I used to have one friend, her name was Amy. She moved to Europe a few months before the school year ended. She always told me people were jealous of my grades. But i knew they weren't jealous and just bullied me because of how i look. I kind of hoped this year would be better, but i knew that wouldn't happen.

First period i had history. I went to my classroom and saw Zach. I hoped i wouldn't have any classes with him.

"Hi Alexia, come sit here." Zach pointed at the chair next to him.

"Zach i don't-" he interrupted me.

"Just sit." I went to the chair and when i wanted to sit the boy who sat behind me pulled away my chair. I fell on the floor and everybody laughed at me except Zach. I ran out of the classroom. Zach followed me. I ran to my locker and sat on the floor. Zach sat next to me and hugged me. I wanted this moment to never end, but i knew it would end in a few seconds. I was right. A boy came to us.

"Zach what the hell are you doing?" He asked.

"Not cool dude. Alexia could get hurt." He said.

"Zach it's ok" i faked a smile.

"Zach let's go." The boy grabbed his wrist and they walked away.

I was alone, as always. Zach was the only one who talked to me at school but i knew that was gonna be over soon. After my last period i quickly went home before i ran into Zach. The rest of the day i tried to do my homework but i couldn't concentrate. Zach called me and texted me non-stop.

My mom and dad were arguing when i came downstairs. I didn't want to get in the middle of it so i went outside. But before i could reach the door my dad grabbed my wrist and dragged me to my mom. He pushed me to my mom and she hold me. She tried to stop my father or hide me behind her but it was to late. I felt his hand on my cheek. The next thing i did is running to my room and cry. I tried to drag my mom with me but she wanted to talk to my dad. Which means yelling the whole night long.
