Chapter 3

Alexia's pov

I tried to sleep but i couldn't. Mom and dad were yelling the whole time. I decided to call Zach, let's see if he still wants to talk to me.

Phone call

Hi Zach

Hi Alexia, it's 4 am shouldn't you be sleeping?

What about you?

What do i hear in the background?

My mom and dad...

Are they arguing?!

Yes, i'm used to it don't worry.

Come to my place you can sleep in the guest room.

I don't know...

Just come, i'll be waiting for you

End phone call

Another night at Zach's house. I couldn't say no so i sneaked out of the house. At least i tried to sneak out. Dad saw me.

"WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?" He yelled.

"I'm going to a friend." I answered.

"SINCE WHEN DO YOU HAVE FRIENDS?!" He came towards me, and i got scared so i took a few steps back.

"SINCE I NEED FRIENDS SO I CAN SLEEP THERE." I yelled with tears coming down.

"YOU HAVE A BED HERE. I DON'T ALLOW YOU TO SLEEP SOMEWHERE ELSE" he yelled.

"I DON'T FEEL SAVE HERE." I ran away.

After i ran out i got a text from my mom. It said: "Run as fast as you can, go to your friend! Remember i'll always love you, goodbye."
The "goodbye" hit me i ran back and saw my mom standing at the window. I got a new text from her. "NO ALEXIA DON'T COME BACK PLEASE. RUN NOW!!!" I heard the door and i saw dad. I ran away. My dad was chasing me, i tried to get rid of him. I ran to Zach's house without looking behind me. I knocked on his door and when Zach opened i immediately ran inside.

"Wow Alexia slow down." He said.

"C-can you check if my dad i-is outside?" I was shaking and tired of running.

"I don't see someone. What's going on?" He gave me a hug and saw my red cheek.

"Omg... did your father did that?" He asked concerned.

"Yes." I was still shaking.

"Why? What happened?" He asks while still hugging me.

"From the day that i was born my dad hates me. When i was younger he hit me almost everyday. My mom covered my bruises every morning so nobody at school would ask about it." I explained.

"Did your mom hurt you too?" He asked.

"No... My dad hits my mom too. She's to scared to leave him. My dad always comes home drunk. Remember at the supermarket? I got a call from my dad, he yelled at me. He said i needed to come home fast. When u got home i saw him kissing with another girl. He shut the door in my face and i called you. You invited me to your house so i came, when you were asleep i went home. I don't know why. When i came home my mom and dad were fighting. My dad dragged me to my mom, she tried to hide me but it was to late my dad hit me on my cheek." I explain and softly touch my cheek.

"Omg... you can't go back there." He said with tears in his eyes.

"I need to... i can't leave my mom with him." I cried.

"I will wake the boys and get your mom, you guys can stay here for a while." Zach stood up.

"Thank you... but let me come with you guys." I stood up too.

We woke up the boys and went to my house. I saw my mom through the window she was sitting on the couch staring. When my mom saw my she held her finger on her mouth. I knew my dad went to bed so i opened the window because the door is too loud. The boys helped my mom climb out.

"QUICK I SEE MY DAD COMING." I yelled.

My mom jumped out and we ran away. I saw the front door opening and my dad ran after us. We were lucky we went with Jack's car. We all jumped in the car and Jack drove back to the house. My mom and i hugged each other. I explained that these boys are Why Don't We and my mom knew immediately who they were.

"Oooh so these are the boys you're listening too when you need to calm down." She says.

I blush and say: "yes..."

Zach looked at me and smiled.

When we got back at the house Corbyn and Jonah took us to the guest room. My mom and i sat on the bed. We hugged and cried until Zach came in. I walked towards him and he put his arms around my waist and pulled me closer. My mom walked out of the room and let us hug for a long time. Zach put one arm under my legs and picked me up. He slowly put me on the bed. He laid next to me and played with my hair until i fell asleep.

The next morning i woke up next to my mom.

"Good morning sweetie." She smiled.

"Good morning mom." I hugged her.

"You're gonna stay home today okay?" She said.

"Ok, do you went some breakfast?" I asked.

"It's 1 pm so i think you mean lunch." She chuckled.

I got up and got dressed. I went to the kitchen and saw Jack, Corbyn, Jonah and Daniel eating.

"Good afternoon Alexia." They said.

"Good afternoon." I answered.

"Is Zach at school?" I asked.

"No he's-" Jonah got interrupted.

Zach: "Hi Alexia."

"Aren't you supposed to be at school?" I asked.

"I ditched school today, i wanted to take care of you and your mom." He hugged me.

"You're the sweetest." I hugged him back.
