4. Finding Rest

It had been twenty-four hours since team RNJR, Qrow and Oscar came back from Wonderland. On the way in between the pond and a little resort, they told Blake and Yang about what happened and the two wouldn't stop asking questions about Summer. Qrow later got a headache so he decided to check the gang into the resort for a few nights. When they got to their rooms, everyone decided to take a rest while Ruby went out to the ocean for a little time for herself. She sat on a rock by the shore and watched the waves crash into the rocks. Something red in the water shone on the rocks. It caught her eye and Ruby looked down. She then took off her boots and hosiery socks and got down from the rock. When she got onto the water and crouched down. It was the necklace. Ruby then thought, The necklace from The Book Of Roses back in wonderland, but what could it be doing here?

Ruby picked it up and put it in her pocket. She decided she'd keep it safe and return it to Wonderland once the mission she was on was done. All of the sudden, she heard her sister call her name, "RUBY?"

Ruby popped out from behind the rock, "YES?"

"Ruby, There you are," said Yang as she came towards her. Ruby came out of the water and grabbed her boots on the way, "There's no time to be playing around in the water, Ruby. We have a meeting before we relax."

"Coming," Ruby replied as she ran up the beach. She went back into the hotel with her sister and sat down in a circle with the gang. Qrow began discussing the route to atlas that they'd take in order to get Weiss back home. On the way between the pond and the hotel, they found Weiss on the side of the road. She wanted to go home, so the group volunteered to take her home so then they could carry on their mission. After the meeting was done, the group relaxed and slept. All except Ruby who sat next to the window in their bathroom. She took the necklace out of her pocket and looked at it continuously as it dangled in her hand. It slowly spun in her hand as it glimmered in the natural light. There was a knock at the door and Ruby was startled as she said, "It's occupied. I'll be out in just a minute."

Ruby quickly put the necklace in her pocket and went over to the toilet. She flushed it to make it seem like she just went to the bathroom and then turned on the water for thirty seconds running her hand under the water. She then wiped it on the towel and went to open the door. It was Oscar. He waved, "Hey, Ruby."

"Oh, Hi Oscar," Ruby replied, "Do you need the bathroom?"

"Um no, actually," he began, "There's this place down in the food hall and I wasn't sure if you wanted to go catch something to eat with me tonight?"

"Oh," Ruby tilted her head a little, "Are you taking me on a date?"

"Um..." Oscar froze. He then shrugged with a nervous tone, "Maybe?"

"Then, it's a date," Ruby said, "Just don't tell Uncle Qrow. He'd flip."

"Okay, see you at 6pm."

"Sounds great!"

"Cool! See you then!"

"See you then!" Ruby walked out of the bathroom doorway and to her bed. She sat down and pulled out one of her comics. She looked up and noticed that her uncle wasn't in the room. SHe looked ot in the hall and there was no sign of him.
