I will!" He said, brightly. "Annabeth, how do you have money? You don't have a real job."

"I take a few odd jobs here and there. I have a few friends who help broke hunters because they have proper jobs."

"What's the worst job you've had?"

"I took a three week job at a high school as a substitute. It seemed like Christo became the go to word. Teenagers are terrifying."

"You've seen werewolves, vampires and a whole lot of other crazy crap, but it's teenagers that scare you?"

"It's the hormones, they all look sad and forlorn, like animals at crappy zoos," she whispered as if someone would hear her.

"Let's go to Dunk n Donuts," he said, pointing at the fast food place.

"Yeah, I bet they have a working AC."

"You should really get that fixed."

"I haven't had the time."

"Percy," Annabeth said putting down the small mirror she had been using to fix her eyebrows.

"Yeah."

"I don't mean to alarm you, but that man paying at the corner, he may be a shapeshifter."

"Silver eyes?"

"Just a bit, yeah."

"What time is it?" Annabeth glanced at the clock.

"8:09," she answered. Percy nodded and shoved his fifth whole donut into his mouth. It was slightly impressive if she didn't find it a bit disgusting. She sipped her coffee and stood up, taking the box of donuts now holding four donuts instead of the original twelve.

"We wait outside and follow him," she whispered to Percy who had grabbed another donut while standing up.

"Got it."

"I think he's normal," Percy said, with a placid look on his face while he watched a butterfly.

"Yeah, I think I-" Annabeth had turned back to the man, who now had an arrow through his heart.

A silver arrow.

Annabeth started running towards him, Percy not far behind him. She looked from side to side, trying to find the killer in the trees. She dashed to the park which seemed the most likely vantage point, leaving Percy with the body. Once she was twenty yards into the park she heard arrows cocked on bows. A sound she had become quite familiar with in the beginning of her hunting experience.

"Stop." A clear voice said, a woman around 20 stepped into the clearing. Annabeth knew she had seen her somewhere before. Her black hair shone under the moonlight and her silver pants were covered in pins saying different band names, with a matching Green Day shirt. Her black combat boots were what gave her away.

"Thalia," Annabeth a little bit breathless from running.

"She's a friend, you can lower your aim." Annabeth marched up to the woman and slapped her as hard as her strength allowed, even though the woman deserved far more. "I guess I deserved that," Thalia said. "Phoebe, you shoot and you'll never forget it. So how are you?"

"I was doing well until I saw you."

"Annabeth, I'm sorry. I had to go."

"Why? Why did you have to go? Where did you even go? Here?"

"No, I..I sorta joined a hunt of immortal maidens," she said, clicking her index fingers together. "How's Luke?"

"Dead."
