Abbigail's POV:
It only took us half an hour to successfully sneak out of tribe lands. Chase and I walk around, taking in the familiar scent of pine and the feeling of warm sunshine on our backs. I have some time to think out here in the woods. I think about seeing my father. It had been what? Maybe six or seven months now? Most people wouldn't go a week without seeing their parents. Not me. Not now.
I thought back to the first day of school--how painful it had been. And then there was the second day of school--when I kissed Matt for the first time. Damn. That kiss... I shook my head to clear my thoughts. The pack meeting, seeing my father, Caleb and I pretending to be a couple, and the months slowly passing by to winter. Then my thoughts shift towards that one day...the day when Matt accidentally saw my transformation. I got hurt...yada, yada, yada.
And now here I was, under the protection of the entire pack, and being smashed under the thumb of the new alpha. This was demeaning. It wasn't like I took a step down from being strong, clear headed, and never dating. No. I had not only taken a step down, I had fallen off the damn rock altogether.
I needed to get back up. I needed to have my authority again, even if it meant--
"Abbs?" Chase brings me out of my thoughts. I blink a couple of times, looking at him like he had two heads.
"Yes?" I ask. He smiles a bit.
"Do you like Matt?"
Oh shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. That question startled me the minute it left his mouth, but for some reason, I can't come up with an answer.
"I don't know," is all I manage to say. Chase smiles even wider and puts his arm around my shoulder.
"You sooo like him."
"I do not," I snap as I throw his arm off. He smirks.
"Yeah, you just let every guy that comes around cuddle you in bed."
I flush, and from the heat on my cheeks, it's probably a deep red.
"He was just worried about me, and he wanted to stick around since I woke up..." I stumble to think of the right words.
"Abbs, Abbs, Abbs..." Chase shakes his head. My eye brows furrow together. Chase looks over at me and smiles, stopping our walk in a little clearing. "Matt sat in your bedroom everyday. He didn't leave from the moment he woke up to the moment the sun went down."
I frown. Matt had been there the whole time? Why? Chase gives me this look like I'm clueless and throws his hands up in the air.
"What?" I ask. He turns back around to face me.
"You don't get it?" he asks seriously. I shake my head. He looks defeated. "Well never mind then..."
Okay....
"So there was a pack meeting about you," he changes the subject as we begin our walk.
"Oh yeah? What about me?" I struggle to see his facial expression through the darkness that is starting to cloud over. That had been the longest amount of sunshine we had gotten for a couple months now. There was still at least a foot of snow on the ground.
"Well, they were talking about whether or not it's such a good idea for you to stay at the Park's house..."
Here it comes. He's going to tell me that I have to move out. I knew it. I wait for him to continue.
"We voted to keep you at the pack house so we can watch over you. It's far too dangerous not to," he says. "With the Dark Mountain pack coming around and all."
"Oh, hell no!" I protest as I stop to face him. "I'm not going to have a bunch of werewolves watch over me like I'm some fragile piece of china!" Chase took a step back with a worried look on his face.
"Abbs, we're only trying to keep you safe," he said softly. I took a deep breath, realizing that my anger must be radiating around me, and closed my eyes to concentrate on calm things. "I don't think you're fragile," Chase pouted. I laughed softly at his puppy dog face.
"We should be heading ba--"
But my words were halted when a furry grey ball took me to the ground.

Matt's POV:
Trying to find Abby (Which is what I still called her since I thought it fit) in the large pack house was like trying to find a needle in a hay stack. I double check her room and hop down the stairs to the kitchen. Nothing. No one.
"Where the hell is she?" I ask into space. This was getting frustrating enough. She was supposed to stay here in the pack house. If she left without my permission...plus the fact that she had gotten by without me noticing...
There's a thundering crash to my right and a loud thump. I turn to see glass shattered all over the floor. The window is broken. Growls come from a ball of grey and white fur rolling towards the couch. A snarl. A ripping sound. I can barely think straight. It all happened so fast.
"Woah!" Daniel yells as the rest of the pack comes down from the stairs. They all stand there and stare as the grey wolf is thrown to the side. The familiar mouth-watering scent hits my nose--this time I know why--and a she-wolf stands in a crouch, ready to pounce.
I watch as the other wolf gets up. It charges at Abby, only to get thrown to the side again. Abby stands her ground, ready to attack when it gets back up. She dodges an attempt to grab her neck, and bites down on the grey wolf's front leg. I hear the victorious snapping sound. The grey wolf whimpers and pulls away, falling down.
Chase appears in the window he takes one glance at Abby and throws something white into the air. Abby jumps, shifting in mid air, and lands on her feet in front of the grey wolf. She wears a white sundress--that must have been what Chase threw up at her. Abby had shifted and slipped into the dress so quick that no one had seen her exposed. The dress whips at her side as wind comes in from the shattered window. Her hair is down, and it flows down her back, gently moving with the wind. She stares down the wolf--her pale blue eyes glowing like a fire has been lit inside of them.
She looks something like what I would expect a goddess in one of those old Greek books to look like. The dress comes mid thigh, and it flows all around her. It only has thin straps to hold it up, leaving most of Abby's back exposed. I can feel the pack starring. They've never seen her like this before--neither have I.
"Stay off of this territory," Abby snarls. Her eyes glow brighter as she takes a step forward. The grey wolf sinks down to its stomach and lowers its head. "Or I will personally tear you to shreds."
Every word comes out of her mouth like venom. Every syllable being an exertion of hatred. The grey wolf whimpers.
"Leave," she snaps in her alpha voice. Surprise makes my eyes go wide as I have to grip the counter to keep myself upright, and the command wasn't even given towards me. I look around to see the pack in the same state, Hunter having fallen to his knees altogether. The grey wolf gets up and darts out of the window while Abby stares it down. She turns back around to face us--the fire in her eyes still her prominent feature.
I step back as she moves between us and mumbles something along the lines of "I'll pay for the window". I just stand there--barely able to move after feeling the alpha command rumble from her lips. I hear the hum of water as the shower turns on upstairs, and I try to collect my thoughts.
