*Kristel's POV*
"Are we almost there? I am so hungry!" Niall whined next to me, as a loud grumbling noise filled the car.
"What the heck was that?" Carina asked from her spot in Harry's lap in front of us.
"I don't know, but it didn't sound human," Louis said from the drivers seat, giving us a frightened look through the rearview-mirror.
"Maybe it was a monster," Harry gasped from in front of me.
"Guys, it was just my stomach rumbling. I told you, I'm hungry!" Niall exclaimed, and the rest of us all began to crack up in laughter.
"Don't worry, Nialler, we'll be there in about fifteen minutes," Louis managed to say inbetween chuckles.
I giggled, and then turned my attention to the scenery outside the window.
The scenery was very beautiful, yet creepy and eerie at the same. There were long, tall trees surrounding both sides of the road, making it look darker outside than what it really was, since the leaves covered up most of the sun. I don't know how to explain it, it just..didn't seem right. Something deep down in my gut was telling me that there was something weird about this place, and I felt butterflies fluttering around in my stomach from the thought. I got pulled out of my thoughts when I felt someone kiss me softly on the cheek.
I turned my head to see Zayn, flashing me that beautiful, warming, crooked smile that I absolutely loved.
"Are you okay, babe?" he asked me, furrowing his eyebrows, as I knew he was trying to figure out what I was thinking by reading my face expression.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?" I answered, giving him a small, reassuring smile.
"I don't know, you just seem tense, is all. Are you sure you're okay, Kristel?" he asked me again, worried, obviously not falling for my lie.
I sighed, knowing that if I didn't tell him what was on my mind now, he'd get it out of me later.
Thats one of things that Zayn had a..well, I guess you can say, magical way of doing. He was the only person that could truly tell when I was lying(I am pretty good liar, if I do say so myself.), and he always finds a way to get the truth out of my sooner or later. I loved him for it though, because I could always go to him when I needed someone to talk to about certain things.
"I don't know..this place just seems..off. It just seems..like something bad has happened here, and its not safe to be here..I don't know, Zayn. This place just doesn't seem right," I told him quietly, as I leaned my head on his shoulder and held his hand a tad tighter.
"Its okay, baby. I'm sure you're just not used to being out in the woods, is all. Everything's going to be fine. I'm not ever leaving your side," he comforted me, and he pressed his lips to mine softly, before wrapping his arms around me tighter, to make me feel more protected.
"Yeah, I guess you're right.." I whispered, closing my eyes and takig a deep breath in and out to calm myself.
"Babe, I'm always right," he said, a smug grin plastered on his face.
A giggle escaped my lips, and I said, "I know you are. I love you."
"I love you more," he murmured in my ear, which sent goosebumps running down my spine.
"Hmm, I don't think I can agree with that," I told him playfully, smiling cheekily at him.
"No?" he asked, a cheeky smile now spread across his face as well.
