I Love Play Rehearsal

(By the end of the song, JEREMY has landed outside play practice with MICHAEL. He hesitates, then decides not to go in.)

JEREMY (SPOKEN)
I guess evolution's not for everyone.

"Wow," Rich scoffed. "You haven't even walked through the door, and you're chickening out."

"Here we go again.." Brooke sighed.

MICHAEL (SPOKEN)
You don't have to do this. Of course, I'll mock you forever if you don't.

"Thee? Michael knowth what'th up!" Rich exclaimed.

(JEREMY pumps himself up.)

JEREMY
C-C-C-C'MON, C-C-C-C'MON, GO GO
C-C-C-C'MON, C-C-C-C'MON, GO-

(He enters... and finds CHRISTINE)

Yo!

"Smooth," Jake said sarcastically.

CHRISTINE (SPOKEN)
Yo.

JEREMY (SPOKEN)
Is this where you meet for the play?

CHRISTINE (SPOKEN)
No, this is where you meet for the swim team. (Off JEREMY) I'm joking.

"Which I thought was pretty obvious," Christine said.

Jeremy internally groaned at how awkward he was being.

JEREMY (SPOKEN)
I'm Jeremy! I mean...

"That's it! I'm done!" Jeremy yelled. "I can't take this weird ass torture anymore!" He stood up all too quickly, forgetting Michael's head was resting on his legs, and ended up kneeing him in the chin.

"Ow!" Michael yelled.

"Oh crap! Sorry!" Jeremy say back down, and Michael resumed his previous position. Jeremy played with his Michael's hair unintentionally, causing Rich and Jake to smirk.

(He stands there awkwardly for a beat.)

CHRISTINE (SPOKEN)
Are you okay?

JEREMY (SPOKEN)
(Barely verbal) Hnnh.

CHRISTINE (SPOKEN)
You seem nervous.

"Nervous is an understatement," Jeremy sighed.

JEREMY (SPOKEN)
No, I always (realizes this is dumb but commits to saying it anyway) sweat this much.

Mr. Heere sighed. "I thought I didn't raise you to be a wuss."

"Oh shit," Chloe chuckled.

CHRISTINE (SPOKEN)
I get it. You're a virgin.

"Oooh! She's onto you, buddy!" Jake laughed.

(Off JEREMY) First play rehearsal!

"Oh," Jake said.

Christine looked at him curiously. "Yeah, what else would I be talking about?"

"Oh..oh you poor innocent thing," Michael said.

Christine looked around the room, seeing everyone knew what Jake meant except for her. Jenna sighed and whispered something in her ear. Christine's eyes went wide.

"EW!"

(Realizes) You think I'm nervous about the play?
