Chapter 11

My new boyfriend sent me an invitation , his family was hosting a romantic gala . I had no interest in it but since I was wasn't doing anything very important that day , I decided to go to it. I searched my wardrobe for my beautiful black dress , Babe had gifted it to me . I wore my lovely pencil heels, put on a mild amount of jewelries before i got into my car . Mum gift it to me newly . She is always so amazing .

I saw babe when I got to the venue
"what's he doing here?" I thought to my self .

"Hey" he said as he drew nearer to me,
"Hey" I didn't want it to look like I was avoiding him.
He took my hand and innocently walked me into the venue for the gala.
"Why couldn't I accept him?" I thought but then the memories of how he hurt me flooded my memories . Time was an enemy to our progress back then . But time didn't really separate us, he did.

We stayed together till my new boyfriend walked down slowly,holding his mum innocently as they descended the steps.
He grabbed the mic and gave a welcome speech to all the people who were gathered there before he left again.

Babe stayed with me the whole time after my new boyfriend had left temporarily . He made laugh and he brought out a small box and gave to me. I opened it and it was the  engagement ring .  I was so shocked, i couldn't speak . Just then my new boyfriend and his mum entered again this time with his brother came too .
"I hope you all are having a good time . I want to tell everyone the reason for this gala. Today is a special day in my life , I want to introduce the woman after my heart to my family officially". He stood there smiling as he watched them applaud him .
He looked at the stair case as the girl ascended the staircase . I had seen her with him twice.  Anger and pain  ran into my veins as she descended I could feel two or more tear drops drop from my face. I picked up my purse and headed for the door with babe trailing me asking me what went wrong? . I hard barely reached the door before my new boyfriend called my name .
I turned slowly , just in time for the light to go off  ...so everyone could focus on the projected images . He made a video of us from the first time we met till date .

"I met you when I had nothing , you loved me , you cared for me even days when all I did was hurt u , insult you , you stayed with me . I love you so much and I always want to be with you . You showed me what true love meant . Baby please in front of my mum and everyone here I want to ask you to be my wife. Will you marry me ?...
Two proposals ?
One night?
Same place?
I was so confused..
" I have a little gift for you . For all the times you stood by me "

I just stood there speechless .  He handed me a small white box with a purple bow attached to it . it was a beautiful necklace with a diamond pendant .It must have cost  him a fortune.
I looked over at babe , he was stood there ice cold... His face was filled with pain . I hate that it had to happen to him.
"So will you marry me ? " my new boyfriend asked
" yes " I said painfully
"Yes " I said again. I looked over at babe as my new boyfriend hugged me . He had tears in his eyes , I wished I could stop them from falling , he turned and left as soon as his eyes caught up with mine . I  cried as I saw him leave but people around mistook it for tears of joy.

I called babe countlessly after my engagement but he let it slip into voicemail.
"You know you can only see him if you go to his house . He hasn't been at work lately , "Taylor said
" His friends told me. She looked over to the window ".
" I hope this is a good idea Tee" ...I picked up my car keys and walked to my car .
'This is gonna be hard' I thought but I drove to his house .
"Hey" I said as I walked in to see him in the living room.
"What do you want ?"  he said as he turned to see who came into his house . He stared deeply at me before he turned to continue playing his video game .
"Why you so depressed?" He said , you made me like this"
"You did that to yourself , you left me , made me feel used the first time  you came over here . You ignored me , you even told me you were having sex with someone else ."  I sobbed lightly
"What did expect me to do when you gave me the impression that we are done and I should move on " I asked in between light sobs .
"I am sorry but I needed to easy myself  of my high sexual urges. I told you but u took it the wrong way. I knew you would though "
"How could you be so self centered and so  nonchalant about my feelings ? " my tears had began to come down my cheeks .

I'm sorry , I didn't know it would turn out this , I'm sorry for all I did to you, but babe I can make things right if you give me the chance" he touched my hands slowly and looked into my eyes .

"I can't call off my engagement with him "
I said turning a way .

"I knew you were sleeping with him before I started dating her , I asked you constantly but you kept on denying it ,yet I forgave you because I love you . "

"I'm sorry . " I said to him slowly , I had imagined myself denying it over and over but I couldn't .

"You were sleeping around before you left . Your best friends told me".  I said

" I really hope you would give me the chance to make it up to you . Remember we both messed up . Let's make it right ". He kissed me slowly . Caressing me with his hands .  'I love you ' he whispered as he kissed me slowly . I missed the way he did it. I wanted him to go deeper but then it felt like sin ... I had to say
" No I can't continue" I said quietly.
"Babe I promise , I will make you happy, I love you."
"I just can't " I said as I stood up to get my bag on the table .
" No you can , you love me , I was the first one to make love to you "he said dragging me close to him . He put his hands on me , looking at me eye to eye .
" I love you " he said almost a whisper.

Just then the door opened up , and my fiancé came in with Taylor.
