Merida's P.O.V.

"Merida, hon, please get up, we have a big big big day today!" I moan at my mother.

"Mooooom...five more minutes!"

"No! Please get up!"

"Why? What's so important about today?!"

"Marida! An Amity does not yell! Nor do they complain, or be rude, now get up!" She takes the blankets off of me, and I shiver.

"UUUGHHH!!!" I yell, and stomp to the wooden bathroom to shower. It's freezing cold. Jeez, it certainly doesn't help my mood!

I step out of the freezing water, and I put on some red shorts and a yellow tank top. I brush my teeth, and don't bother with my hair. It'll only get worse. Eh.

I put on some red sneakers, and grab my bag.

"Would you like me to drive you in the truck?" Mum asks.

"No thank you," I try my hardest not to scowl. Mum smiles.

"Now that's more like it!" I fake smile, and go outside. The scent of apples fill my nose and lungs. The sunshine beats down on me, and I start to sweat a little. Amity folks bid me good day, and compliment me. Ugh, I gotta get outta here.

I take my skateboard, and I grab onto the back of a truck.

Once the truck starts to pass the school, I let go, and skate to it. I hop off, and hide my skateboard in my backpack.

Just before I walk inside, the train flies by, and I see Elsa and a few other Dauntless roll down the hill. I smile. I've always wanted to be a Dauntless. To be free, and brave. To be grouchy whenever I want to. It would be awesome. I think I'm going to choose it for the Ceremony... Mum would hate me, but I don't care. I want freedom.

Elsa jumps to her feet flawlessly, and runs to me, panting. I snort at the grass in her hair.

"What?" she asks. I snort some more, and pluck the grass from her soft, loose, blonde locks. I envy her hair. Oh well, I honestly do not care what I look like.

"Oh, thanks," Elsa smiles, and we walk to our lockers. Then Punzie walks up to us. I wrinkle my nose at her gray, skin tight dress. I hate gray.

"Hey guys," she says quietly.

"Hey," Elsa and I say in sync. We giggle, and I start to get the books from my locker.

"Come on, let's go," Elsa says, and we walk to our first class.

❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

Many classes later, it's finally lunch. My stomach is rumbling, and I've been trying my hardest to concentrate, but I just can't.

I grab my lunch sack, and sit down at my table. Honestly, I don't like Jack, but somehow we're friends. Hiccup never really speaks. Instead, he just reads. Eugene is like Jack. Mainly they do the talking. I just argue. Punzie listens.

"Elsa isn't sitting here today, is she?" Jack whines. I look around, and spot Elsa smiling at a girl with strawberry blonde pigtail braids.

"No, she's with her sister today," Punzie says quietly. We all look at her.

"Damn, you talked! Say something else!" Jack smirked. I rolled my eyes at him, and Punzie looked down. Jack looked disappointed.

"I didn't know Elsa had a sister," Hiccup said, without looking up from his book. Jack got excited again.

"Hiccup too? Wait, what do you mean? I thought you knew everything!" Jack smirked again.

"Enough, Jack!" I yell. They look at me, except Hiccup. He keeps reading.

"Oohohoh! Amity is turning mean!" Jack snickers. I roll my eyes again.

"So how come you knew Elsa had a sister?" Eugene asked Punzie. Only us five know Eugene's real name is Eugene. Everybody else calls him Flynn. I think it's awesome, because he lied about his name, and he's a Candor!

"Elsa and I had a little chat after lunch yesterday," she scowled at Jack, who was stuffing his face with food. I make a disgusted face, and I take a bite out of my apple.

"Really? You...spoke to Elsa?" Eugene asks. She nods.

"What's gotten into you?" Jack scowls.

"Elsa's not as bad as you think, Jack! You don't know anything about-"

"I know enough about her! She's a freak! I don't care if she's a Dauntless! She's a coward!" We all sit in silence. I notice Hiccup look up from his book. He's examining Elsa. He knits his eyebrows together in confusion, and looks back to his book. Pfft. Nerd.

"Maybe if you know what she's going through, you may know why she's afraid," Punzie said in a quiet voice.

"WHAT? WHATS SO GOD DAMN IMPORTANT?!?" Jack rages, and bangs his fist on the table. Rapunzel stands up, and the room goes quiet. She scowls at Jack, and stomps outside. After a few seconds, I see Elsa follow her. I look back at Jack, who looks like he may stab someone in the eye with a butter knife.

"Nice goin, jerk," I say, and follow the girls. They are behind the school, and Rapunzel is stomping/pacing, muttering what I think are curse words. Elsa keeps trying to comfort her, but Punzie just yells louder. I watch.

"HES A NO GOOD F****** B****** WHO JUST CANT KEEP HIS F****** MOUTH SHUT!! HES A F****** A****** AND HE GOD DAMN KNOWS IT!!!" she rages. Elsa is trying her hardest not to laugh. I snort, and fall on the floor, clutching my ribs. Rapunzel eventually calms down, and looks up at the moon. A tear rolls down her cheek, and Elsa pats her back. I do the same, and Rapunzel smiles at us. We have a little group hug, and carry on the rest of the horrid day.
