One step

The room shakes,
My breath shatters before it dissipates,
Filling the fire turning lungs to ashes,
Blood boiling until the heart out-lashes.

Space getting tighter and the air solidifies,
Screams inside the brain and wails behind the eyes.
Heat has reached the head at last,
One stumble and it will all stay in the past.

As thoughts keep on piling,
The heart and the brain keep riling,
The body has head it, has had enough slack,
it takes a harmless step back.

What follows is another one forward
and before any of them could talk again,
I've walked across the plane.

I know I haven't updated in forever and a day, but I'm updating now.
This poem is about something I struggle with every day and eventually overcome.
