"Another encounter with the Devil himself." Myers brings up at lunch.
"Haha, very funny." I say with sarcasm.
"What happened this time?" Goss asks.
"Nothing happened. He took my to the hospital wing."
"Oooo, maybe he likes her. Taking care of her." Mavericks says in a girl voice.
"Or since I'm the only girl he feels pity. I'm telling you two more seconds and I would've had him pinned or knocked out."
"He was pretty mad after you left." Storm slowly says.
"Yeah I know. Did you see that death glare he gave me when I was walking out?"
"It gets worse."
"What do you mean?" I ask out f curiosity.
"What happened to the pact man? We agreed we wouldn't tell her." Rucker says to Goss.
"Well, she has a right to know." Goss replies.
"Know what?"
Turner sighs. "After you left Kyle went into a huge rage fest. He was screaming and yelling, a lot of it we couldn't make out he was so mad. One of the few things we caught was 'I swear to God I'm gonna beat the bitch to a pulp.'"
"To a pulp? Who says pulp? Haha that's funny." A genuine laugh coming out of me.
"That's all you got out of that?" Asks Mavericks.
"What? I'm supposed to be afraid because a guy twice my size wants revenge because a teenage girl just embarrassed him? No. If y'all beat the shit out of him and he wanted revenge y'all would be sitting here eating like nothing ever happened. Which is exactly what I'm doing?" I take a bite of my grilled cheese and chew it obnoxiously to make a point.
"We know you can handle yourself, but if you need anything-" I cut Langston off.
"I'll be fine."
Samuel gives the other guys a look before nodding. This was going to be an interesting week.
**
The rest of the day I don't see Kyle. Not during scuba training or any other training. The next day when we go into the weight room is the first time I see Kyle.
He has a nice bruise on the side of his face. He glares at me as I walk into the room proudly showing my battle wounds while he tries to hide his.
We go through our arm day workout. As we workout I don't miss the glares Kyle keeps giving me. I ignore them. Once my team and I are done working out we go to lunch. As lunch finishes it's now time for our long distance underwater dive. A long distance underwater dive consisted of us getting in a pool, a usually freezing cold one, and swimming underwater, with no scuba gear, and swimming as far as we can.
You learned to hold your breath long enough to be able to get to the other end of the pool and back several times. You dove when you wanted to and then started. I went with Samuel as we dove in and slowly swam back and fourth.
We do this for a few hours before it's time for dinner.
"I'm going to do one last dive." I tell my team.
"Don't push yourself too much, let's get some dinner. I'm starving." Mavericks says.
"You're always hungry. And I'll meet up with you guys."
They nod and head to dinner. As I swim under the calm water I'm on my second lap when I hear something jump in the water. I'm too late to look, the water making my movements slow. Something presses on my back pushing me deeper and deeper into the water.
My chest hits the bottom of the pool. I feel hands grasp around my neck. I release the breath I was holding, the bubbles rising to the surface. The water enters my lungs, a burning feeling. Then a realization hits me, I'm going to drown.
I do all I can to get whoever is on me off. But I can't get a good angle to fight him and I've been underwater too long. Darkness clouds my vision and I reluctantly go into it.

I spit up what seems like gallons of pool water. I turn over getting as much as I can out. The light blinds me as I take my first breath. I look around. The only other person in the room is Beyer. He is soaking wet as well.
"I'm guessing you're the one who saved me." I say my voice hoarse.
"Yes." He replies.
"Who was it?" I ask already knowing the answer.
"Kyle."
I scoff. "And what are you going to do with him now?"
"First of all, we called the cops and he will be going to jail for attempted murder."
"And second of all?"
"He didn't leave without any damage."
I couldn't imagine what that implied. Had Beyer beaten the shit out of Kyle? I could believe it, but how far had he gone. A black eye? Bruised ribs? Broken arm? All of the above? I wonder what state Kyle was in.
"Thank you." I say.
He just nods his head. I try to stand up, but my legs are weak. I fall... and don't hit the ground. Instead I fall into the arms of Beyer. I push myself away showing that I can do it myself.
"I don't need you to treat me differently. I'm not a little girl who needs her hand held, I've said this before."
"I know, but if I wasn't here today what would've happened to you?" He asks in a sharp tone.
I look away. I would've died.
"And by the way. That wasn't me treating you different. That was me saving a fellow navy seal." On that note he walks off.

I find my team in the cafeteria. They look at me questionably as I sit down next to them. I rub my neck feeling the bruising start.
"What took so long?" Asks Storm with a mouth full of food.
"I um..." Do I tell them I almost drowned? DioI tell them I almost died?
"What? Cat got your tongue?" Laughed Langston.
"I almost died." I quietly said. The laughing stops when they hear that.
After the storm of questions being thrown at me I proceed to tell them about the incident. How I was swimming when an unknown man came and jumped into the water choking me and making me drown. How I woke up coughing up water to find my knight in shining armor was Beyer and that the person who almost killed me was Kyle.
They were mad, as I expected. They wanted to go to wherever Kyle was and beat the shit out of him, but Beyer had already done that, or so he had said.
At this point I needed someone to talk to. Preferably a girl. I wanted to call my mom, but I didn't want my parents to worry. And although I was super close with Monique it felt almost awkward to call her now since I hadn't talked to her for so long.
I wanted to talk to the guys, but I knew all I would get out of them would be cruel threats towards Kyle and no actual listening. So, I went to the last person that I thought I'd go to.
