Needless rode fast and silently through the sandy, dry, and flat landscape following what he believed to be the horse tracks of the ghost bunny. He passed cacti by the millions and stopped from time to time to give his horse a rest. As he followed the tracks they became harder and harder to follow, to the point where he could hardly tell tracks from any other part of the ground. He came up on a valley made out of an old dried up river, he stopped in the shade to let his horse rest and take a drink from his canteen. He lifted the canteen up to his lips and tilted back to drink, keeping his eyes open for enemies or anything deadly and watching the edges of the valley above him. Thats when he swore he saw a man with rabbit ears sitting on a horse looking down at him, he almost spit out his water in surprise. The figure turned and rode off without a trace.
Needless quickly mounted his horse and took off as fast as physically possible. He got out of the valley and watched the landscape as he went for any trace of the man he had just seen, but nothing. He rode for hours until it started to get dark. Needless was about to stop and set up camp when he saw a light, probably from a fire, in the distance. Needless went towards this light and rode up on a big farm, the sign outside read "Poeshyy's fields." Needless got off his horse and guided it over to three other horses that where tied up and tied up his next to them. As he was tying up his horse he noticed the one next to him had a badge of a ghost on it, and the one next to that had the badge of a revolver with a scope and holsters for rifles and revolvers, the third was just another normal horse. Needless guessed the one with the ghost belonged to the man he was following, the other to the sharpshooter rumored to take a cheeta at full speed out with one shot of a revolver at 1000 yards, and the other normal horse might be the owners.
Needless went over to one of the last workers still up, he was finishing up so Needless asked him where the owner of the farm was, the worker politely pointed him to the farm house and said that the owner had company that wasn't always the friendliest. Needless was confused on the mans warning, but thanked him and walked towards the house.
When Needless got to the house he heard rapid shuffling of feet as if people inside where running, and yelling at one another to be quite. He knocked on the door and a man answered with holding a baby of about 2 months. The man was wearing a cowboy hat with cat ears, a white plaid, button-up, long-sleeved T-shirt with the sleeves rolled up, blue jeans, and leather cowboy boots. The man then said, "well hello there stranger, my name's Poeshyy, what brings you to my little farm out in nowhere?" He wore a friendly and welcoming smile. Needless then responded with "I'm looking for a man because I need to talk to him, and also if you wouldn't mind letting me stay here for the night, I have money I can pay for letting me stay." Poeshyy laughed and let Needless in, "payment isn't necessary, I was 'bout to offer to let you stay, as for the man, I can't help you there I've got a family here to look after."
Poeshyy led Needless to the kitchen and let him sit at the table, he then took his baby into the other room so his wife could watch the child, then came back and poured Needless a glass of beer. Poeshyy then asked, "son you look a little young to be on your own don't you think?" Needless responded with "well actually I turned old enough today, I've been livin with foster parents all my life because my birth parents met a quick end due to some robbers when I was a baby." "Sorry to hear that," Poeshyy responded attempting to show some comfort to his new guest. Just then a voice around the corner said "oh come-on Poesh, the kid's fine he prolly doesn't even remember it." A tall man and shorter woman walked around the corner, the girl was in a pink stripped, button-up, short-sleeved T-shirt, blue jeans, and cowboy boots with guns embroidered on them, Needless assumed this was the sharpshooter form the rumors. The girl went up to Needless and hugged him tightly, then said, "my name is Quinn, yes I'm the legendary sharpshooter from all the rumors but my hugs can manipulate minds." Needless immediately felt better, then look over at the man still in the doorway. He was tall with curly black hair, facial hair that ran along the bottom edge of his cheekbones, Needless found this familiar for some reason, a black plaid, long-sleeved, button-up T-shirt with the sleeves fully covering his arms, and blue jeans hung over the outside of the cowboy boots as if to hid the boots from sight. The man spoke with a calm voice, "my name's Rosy and why don't we sit down and relax a little, get to know our surprise guest." Rosy sat at the table waiting for Quinn and Poeshyy to sit down to. Needless then said, "ya know I never really got many pointers on how to shoot, maybe you could give me some Quinn." Quinn responded smiling, "sure, what gun you got?" Needless reached down to his holster and pulled out a simple revolver, although it was simple it had never let him down, he set the revolver gently on the table for everyone to see. "Doesn't look to bad," Poeshyy said.
"I will need to see you shoot so I know where to start, but we can do that tomorrow," Quinn said with a smile as Needless thanked her. Needless then turned to Rosy, "your beard, somethin bout it is familiar but I can't place my finger on it." Rosy responded with a shocked look, "must've saw someone else with it then, cause I've never seen you before." "Ok then why are your boots covered?" Needless asked already forming the thought that this man was the ghost bunny. "They're damaged," Rosy responded quickly obviously getting heated at this point. Needless responded with "really, then which horse outside is yours, mayhaps the one with the ghost badge?" In that moment Rosy let anger get ahead of action and grab the revolver off the table and had it up to Needless's head in less then a second, "choose your next words carefully boy, or they might be your last," Rosy warned as he cocked the gun he held. Needless sat there unaffected and held his hands out to his sides slowly, then said, "well go on then, pull the trigger and see what happens." Rosy's hand started to shake as Quinn jumped up and tackled him, but in doing so set off the gun.
There everyone stayed, frozen in place for the fear that they just saw the death of a man hardly old enough to drink. Needless remained still, then looked at his forehead where a mushed chunk of lead that was still smoking was frozen in place, "you see there's a reason I was called a superhuman worker back on the foster family farm." Needless reached up and pulled the chunk off and threw it on the floor next to Rosy's head, "if you want to kill me it's gonna take more then a gun ghost bunny. Thats not why I'm here though, I feel like somethin bad's a brewin and I need your help, Quinn's to if she's willin. We need to find whatever is gonna happen and stop it, so are you with me or not?" Rosy looked at Quinn, then at Poeshyy, then at Needless, "look kid, yes I am the ghost bunny, surprise you found me, and yes I've felt the disturbance to, but I don't work in a team, I go solo." "It's alright I'll teach you how to work in a team," Needless said with a smile. Quinn agreed and encouraged Rosy who eventually said, "alright fine, get some sleep we pack up and move out tomorrow."
