Chapter 3:Evil on the Horizon

Dawn broke and Rosy, Quinn, and Needless packed their horses to leave. they did this in silence as not to wake Poeshyy, his wife, or the baby. they mounted their horses and rode towards the next town in the dim light of sun on the horizon. half ways through their journey they stopped at an abandoned farm, they sat in the shade of the only tree around that was growing out of what farmland was left in the place as their horses drank from a nearby stream that was used for powering a water wheel to crush grain.

They sat in silence until Needless said, "ya know what, why don't we make ourselfs a team name?" Quinn looked at Needless with excitement, Rosy looked at him with a dead stare and said "THIS is not a team it's just a combination of our powers to defeat whatever that evil is we can sense." Needless quickly changed the subject by saying, "ok then how bout we learn more bout eachothers powers, I'll start. My power allows me super strength punches that have enough force to send a good 10 men through a wall, and any fast impact will be uneffective unless there is no bone underneath, like when Rosy shot me in the house, I was safe due to my skull, had he shot my gut, then a different story would've unfolded last night." Quinn frowned and hugged Needless before saying "I'm glad that didn't happen, and as you know I can hit anything with a bullet that I want, and my hugs manipulate minds if needed." Needless and Quinn then looked at Rosy expecting an answer, Rosy then took a microphone off his belt and held it up and said "I sing fast, it's called rapping which not many people know or can do, and when I rap fire shots outta my mouth, this microphone allows me to direct that fire at any give target and burn it and or them to a crisp." Just then the ears on Rosy's hat twitched and Rosy said, "and the ears give me better hearing, speaking of which I hear screams of terror from the direction of the town." Quinn ran over to her horse and grabbed a sniper, carefully looking through the scope at the town, "yup there's a good forty men ransackin the place." Needless was shocked, "how big is the town we are goin to?" Rosy responded, "the biggest town round, but we need to go now cause that might be our lead to the evil."

Rosy, Quinn, and Needless all mounted their horses and raced toward the town riddled with gunshots and screams. Needless got into town first, hopping off his horse and tackling one of the men who was attempting to steal a women's purse. Quinn stopped her horse next to Needless's and took out a revolver, hitting any men she could without putting innocent townfolk in trouble. Rosy was the last into town and he already had his microphone in had when he got there, however he put it away and resorted to his revolver instead. The trio started to fight their way into the town, but as another wave started to approach them another person rode into town, wearing a black cloak and covered from view, the cloak opened to reveal speakers and a ukulele in the gloved hands of this mystery person, the hands strummed the instrument and the speakers sent sound waves out knocking over the whole wave in one swoop. The mystery person then pointed at Needless and said "you with me, the other two go left we'll go right." Needless got on his horse and raced through the town with this mystery person being more of a shield so the mystery person could take waves out at a time, Rosy and Quinn went the other way and clear the rest out, Rosy got his hands on one of them and decided to interrogate him, "who are you working for, where's the source of the evil, why would you attack on such a great scale?" The man said nothing, punched Rosy in the face to get free, then ran off before he could be injured or worse. Needless and the mystery person met with Rosy and Quinn and then Rosy asked "who's this?" well he pointed to the mystery person who just helped. The mystery person responded, "some know me as a drifter, or a careless whisper, but my name is Oreo and as far as your concerned it was cause a me you're still alive." "Whatever, we coulda handled it ourselves," Rosy said, "and besides we are here for a reason, one to stop that evil, and two cause we gotta Needless and Quinn need some upgrades to their attire, you can either join us or go back from where you came, your choice." Oreo thought for a bit, then said, "I'll join but I'm not changing my attire, it helps conceal my identity, and that's how it's gonna be, I might be a lady but I ain't helpless." "Ok then, Rosy where are we gonna get new attire?" Needless asked as he helped make sure Quinn's bruise on her face she had suffered from the fight was ok. "Simple," Rosy said pointing to a little faded wooden sign above a shop that read, 'Prismia's clothes, hats, and boots'. "we get stuff from the person who made my hat, ghost pin, and boots." "She made me this outfit to," Oreo said as she made sure her hood was blocking any chance of her face being seen. "Alright I guess," Needless said as he followed Rosy to the store.

They walked in to see a women behind the counter that couldn't have been above her thirties and her two children making sure shelves were stalked and the floor was sweep. The women said "hello" with a warm and welcoming smile, "well I'll be, bunny boy and the cloaked crusader finally show back up in town, Quinn said you where comin back one day bunny boy, and who's the new kid?" She referenced Rosy as bunny boy, but Needless decided this was probably normal, and looked around. The shelves were filled with all kinds of handcrafted clothes, hats, boots, and more. "That kid is Needless, me, him, Quinn, and miss mystery over here are all goin in search of an evil we can sense, try to stop it if we can," Rosy said as he watched Needless and Quinn look at the different hats, showing the hats to each other with smiles on their faces. "Alright, well you came here for a reason I rekon," Prismia said as she stepped out from behind the counter. "Yes," Rosy said, "those two need some better fightin gear," he pointed at Needless and Quinn, "the boy could prolly use some body armor around areas that don't have bone underneath along with some punchin enhancements, and Quinn could prolly just use a pair of googles that makes her see more." Prismia walked over to Needless and Quinn, "that sound good to you two?" Needless and Quinn simultaneously said "yes." Prismia then said, "alright let me get some measurements then I can get to work." She measured Quinn and Needless then said "it should be a few hours, y'all can go to the local bar I'm sure they'd be more then willin to have the town saviors in there."

The group of four left Prismia alone to work and went down to the bar where they were greeted by the mayor who thanked them for chasing the "lowlife, thug filled, scum" out of town. They all had drinks and sat there talking to the townsfolk as they waited for Prismia to finish. After a few hours had pasted, the group went back to Prismia's to see if she was done. "Yup I got everythin right here," she said as she went into the back room and brought out some clothing that was neatly folded in her arms, and two hats on top with pins beside them. She handed Needless a red, plaid, short-sleeve, button up t-shirt that looked exactly like the one he already had on and said, "this has mechanics in it that'll increase your muscle strength capabilities and it also serves as body armor if needed." Needless looked at her in confusion, she sighed and said, "it makes your punches hit harder, and protects parts without bone behind it." She then handed him a leather vest decorated in timber wolves and said that to would provide some armor, then handed him new boots with timber wolves, a pin of a timber wolf, and a hat that had timber wolf ears that could improve his hearing slightly. "What's all the timber wolves for?" Needless asked as he went to the changing room to switch into his new clothing. "It means you look innocent and nice, but if you need you can pack a punch, your hard to kill but it's not impossible, and you are a team player," she responded with a smile. Needless came out in the new clothes with the same old blue jeans he had on before and the pin he had just gotten buttoned to his vest. Prismia then handed a hat to Quinn, it resembled an owls head vaguely, "and you can use the eyes as googles to improve your sight, I went with an owl because they have great eyesight." Quinn moved the googles down and fell against Needless because of how close everything was, she took the googles off and apologized for falling against Needless who said it was fine. Prismia said everything was free of charge for saving the town and the group of four thanked her and left for the next town.
