The Legend of the Unneeded Hero

Chapter 6:The Devil's Den

They stood on the edge of the cliff in the moonlight, talking over plans. Rosy suggested use the moonlight and run in guns blazing, Quinn suggested playing it safe until they got closer to the middle, Oreo just said she would do whatever Needless planned, and Needless suggested using their abilities to get over the crowd of people after using their "charms" to get in and get the location of whatever was controlling the evil. Everyone agreed on this plan but then Rosy said "what do you mean by 'charms'?" Needless smiled and said, "just watch yourselves in there, don't need to break any hearts, even if they evil." Everyone knew then and there what Needless meant by charms, they all agreed and started to take off anything that would identify them, Rosy removing his hat and pin and putting his jeans over his boots, Quinn removed her hat, Needless took off his hat and pin and put his jeans over his boots also, as for Oreo, she finally removed her cloak in front of everyone revealing what she actually looked like to Rosy and Quinn. Rosy and Quinn looked at Oreo wide-eyed in shock, her dark skin reflected the moonlight over her body, wearing a purple short sleeved, stripped button up shirt and jeans. Oreo pulled the speakers out of her cloak and put them in a vest that she put over her shirt, then cuddled up against Needless trying to hide her face from her friends' surprised reaction.

Needless gently put his arms around Oreo as he looked over the cliff at the town, then back at Rosy and Quinn who group hugged both him and Oreo in comfort. Needless was the first to speak, taking in a shaky breath before speaking, and holding Oreo tightly as he did, "I-well I don't really know what will happen, or if any of us will make it outta there, but if we don't I want y'all to know that its been on great adventure." He gently kissed Oreo on the forehead before taking all the gear off the horses and letting them free. Rosy was the next to speak, "Needless when we get in there you and Oreo will go for whoever's running this evil master plan as me and Quinn hold off whatever guards or anything that the man in charge has." Needless nodded as he felt Oreo hold onto him tighter before she spoke saying only three words, "I love you." Needless hugged Oreo tightly before he said, "alright I guess that's enough said, Quinn how many we looking at in the town?" Quinn lifted her sniper to her shoulder as she fought back tears, afraid of what might happen, and said, "couple hundred townsfolk at least." She lowered the gun and broke down crying as what was about to happen finally overwhelmed her. Rosy, Oreo, and Needless looked at eachother before group hugging Quinn and comforting her, before they all geared up and decided it was time.

They all slowly walked into town, Oreo held onto Needless as she looked from one face to the next, everyone of the faces looking back at her with an evil, lustful glare. Needless had his arm around Oreo holding her close and watching the faces closer, Rosy and Quinn followed closely behind, sticking close to one another for protection, even though Rosy had been rumored to been through worse. A drunk woman stumbled out in front of the group and throw herself against Rosy, he quickly pushed her back to arms length and decided to put on a smoulder and a fancy deep and silky smooth voice, asking the woman calmly, "where is the person in charge and who is it?" To his surprise this actually worked, the woman explained it was the devil in charge and he hid himself in the middle of the town, surrounded by guards a plenty. Rosy thanked the woman for the information and tried to walk away but she throw herself against him again and said "where you goin big man, that info wasn't free." Rosy pushed her away into the crowd and all four of them moved on looking for the center. As they were walking two men jumped from the crowd, one lunged at Quinn and Quinn caught him with the handle of her revolver in the nose, Rosy then swung at him and knocked him out in one hit. The other man charged and Needless and Oreo, knocking Needless away and grabbing Oreo by the shoulders, Oreo reacted immediately by kicking the man right in between the legs, the man stumbled away a little before Needless came back and stuck his shoulder into the mans face at full force sending him flying into the crowd. Rosy and Quinn were unharmed but Needless hugged Oreo tightly and look her over to make sure she was unharmed, to his relief she was.

The group of four heroes kept up like this through the crowd until they had made it to the center. Quinn looked with a spare scope she brought with, "there's about 40 guards out in front, the door is behind em," she said as she put the scope back at her side. Rosy looked at Quinn, then Oreo and Needless and said, "alright Quinn, you and me will make a path for those two and together they should be able to take down the devil." Rosy and Quinn stood up and casually walked towards the guards, Quinn was able to walk up to the first guard who bent down to kiss her, she slapped him hard enough to knock him out, then pulled out dual revolvers and started firing at all the guards now charging towards her as Rosy went into the crowd with his microphone and started spitting fire and burning guards to a crisp. Needless saw their chance and grabbed Oreo by the hand, leading her through the madness and into the castle at the center of town, to their surprise it was empty. Needless looked out a nearby window and saw both Rosy and Quinn get captured and killed, he quickly looked the door and bared it so no guard could get in. The couple ran through the halls quietly, looking back and forth for the devil's thrown room or the devil himself. They stopped to take a break and the ground started shacking as loud thunderus steps started towards them, a dark figure rounded the corner, roughly 9 feet tall, and seemed to be made completely of a dark shadow matter. The figure smiled at them before talking in a dark, deep, gravely voice, "so these are the heroes that are going to stop me?" he laughed and charged the two with incredible speed. He struck at Needless and sent him flying away, grabbed Oreo with one hand and materialized a knife out of the dark madder he was made of in the other, holding the blade up to Oreo's throat as he knew the only person to stand a chance against him was Needless, but Needless wouldn't attack if his love was in danger, or so the devil thought. Needless picked up Oreo's ukulele that had been dropped in the fight and held it up to his chest, in one powerful strum he sent sound waves to Oreo's vest that sent her flying from the devil's grip and onto the ground next to him, the devil was knocked back but charged again at Oreo, this time holding the knife above his head and swinging down as he got over Oreo. Needless jumped ontop of Oreo forming a ball around her, the knife hit his back and there was an explosion of white that engulfed everything.
