"Before she was in labor, she
gave birth;
Before her pain came,
She delivered a male child.
Who has heard such a thing?
Who has seen such things?
Shall the earth be made to
give birth in one day?
Or shall a nation be born at
once?
For as soon as Zion was in
labor,
She gave birth to her
children."
Isaiah 66:7,8This is a hard one. The male child has to be Jesus the Christ, before destruction of Jerusalem and the temple, which would be her pain. The earth giving birth in one day or a nation being born at once is a bit more difficult.
I think this is a reference to Jesus the Christ. The birth of Jesus was important to all the earth, as well as the believers in Zion. So Zion had to be in labor, something difficult for her. This labor had to be the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple - the second destruction in 70 AD. Jesus is the Son of God, which is where God showed His love for all man.
Jesus' birth had to be the happiest and saddest day for God. Happiest because Jesus was birthed to show us God's love. Saddest because Jesus would have to die, and God knew it - prophecy had to be fulfilled. Tell God you love Him.The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
