Therefore the Lord says,
The LORD of hosts, the Mighty
One of Israel,
"Ah, I will rid Myself of My
adversaries,
And take vengeance on My
enemies."
Isaiah 1:24
Who are God's adversaries? He is speaking to Judah, specifically Jerusalem, so His adversaries are anyone who does not put Him first. And in verse 27 God says that Zion shall be redeemed with justice. This is very important to God - justice and righteousness.
God is in control. Many bad things are happening in the world right now, and He is allowing this. The Bible tells us all -
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,
traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
2 Timothy 3:1-5
This, to me, all equals selfishness. Worry all about ourselves and no one else. We all can list specific examples, and see this behavior all the time.
Know that it is God. He is testing us. Do we conform to world or follow His path through Jesus Christ? I remember all the pleasant helpful people I met. They are still out there :-) Tell God you love Him.
The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.
Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
