An Awkward Train Ride Turned Fun

I was beyond bored.

Like, what was I expecting from a train ride that would last MORE than one hour? By the tenth minute, I've already reached death by lack of excitement. And here I sat, 30 minutes since the train had left the station.

I stared at the empty seat in front of me, and finally decided enough was enough. I was going out for minimum action. Standing up on my two legs, and stretching my limbs, I made my way out of the compartment, after securing my favorite Nemo backpack onto me.

I walked across the small corridors, tripping here and there from the speed of the vehicle. Luckily, I hadn't fallen face flat yet, which was an ironic benefit from being ADHD, causing my reflexes to always be on hype mode.

I passed by a compartment which was filled to the brim with candy. My stomach groaned in need. I stared enviously as two boys started stuffing their faces with the sweet treats. Well, the ginger was inhaling the food like my mom's favorite vacuum as they other black haired boy nibbled here and there.

I then realized that they were both the boys I had seen on the platform. And before even thinking, I slid the door open.

The little mermaid boy started choking on the food while glasses looked spooked. Whoops.

"Ah, ehm, sorry for just barging in. I was just wondering if I could stay here with you two? I was kind of alone and there isn't much to do apart from sleeping, and even that I failed to do. Soooo, yeah..."

The words just stumbled out of my mouth awkwardly. This was going well.

Black haired boy looked at me, then at the redhead. They both shared a look, until they finally nodded.

Grinning, I plopped down next to them.

"Oh thank you! I was going mad." I cried out exasperatedly. "So, what are your names? I'm Pierce Jackson. Ah! I mean Black. Sorry. Still getting used to this whole Wizarding thing."

The boy with the broken glasses gave me a small smile. "Me too. I'm Harry Potter, and this is Ron Weasley."

Ron looked at me wearily, the same look Hermione had given me when I had mentioned my name.

"Are you really a Black?" He asked.

I quirked an eyebrow at that. "Apparently. I mean, I've never met any of my family members, but that's what my mom told me."

That must have brought him more at ease, as his shoulders visibly relaxed, and he extended and arm holding some candy in it.

"Liquorice wand?"

Gratefully, I took it from him.

"Where did ya get that accent?" Ron was still going on with questions, I guess.

"What accent?" I replied. "You guys are the one with accents. My 'accent' is just fine."

He looked flabbergasted, but then let out a laugh. "You're the one with the accent! It's odd, really!"

Harry decided to join in too. "It sounds American. If you are American, that means you're the one with the accent. We're in Britain."

I smiled sheepishly. "Guilty. I'm from New York. It just feels... weird not being there. Guess I kinda forgot."

And from then on, Harry and I received a slight lesson from the Weasley about the wonders of the Magical World.

"What the heck is a bludger?!"
