It was almost time for the second D.A meeting. Hermione was double checking her homework, Ron was bouncing a stringless yo-yo, Harry was staring into space at the floor and I was fiddling with my wand.
“Why does the time have to be going so slowly?” Ron groaned now slouching in his chair. “Only about a half an hour to wait! You should be doing something useful! It is our O.W.L year after all!” Hermione insisted. “Half an hour seems like forever at this stage! Tick clock TICK!” I bellowed pausing to stare at the clock as if my mind could over power it.
“I don't think shouting at the clock is going to make a difference! What? Ron! Don't blow it up!” Hermione looked at Ron who was about to demolish the clock.
“If the clock is gone, the time might pass faster!” He stated. “And you couldn't just look away from it?!” She protested. “It's teasing me!”He said
“I wouldn't blame him trying to blow up the clock! It would have been the only amusing thing! We can't do much because of the weather.” Harry sighed. Hermione slammed her books.
“At least try to study!” Hermione snapped. “Fine. I'm going to read the book I borrowed from the library. See you in half a million years!” I said and I went upstairs to my dorm room.
I had forgotten about the book I found in the Library. “Tales of Beedle the Bard” I reached into my trunk and fished it out.
I took a deep breath and opened the book. I read the index of the book first to see what was in the book. It was all a bunch of kids stories. I stopped running my finger down the page when I noticed the symbol of my mark drawn in next to the tale of the Three Brothers. I went to the page it was on and began to read.
All that was in the story was Three brothers who got three things from death. The most Powerful wand in the world, A resurrection stone and an invisibility cloak.
At the end of the story there was a diagram of the symbol:
The Triangle: The invisibility cloak.
The circle: The resurrection stone.
The vertical line: The worlds most powerful wand.
This was all so much to take in. How could something like the moon, give me a mark with this symbol, a symbol from a tale? Harry has an invisibility cloak. Is it the only one? What if it's the one mentioned in the story?
My heart was beating fast, pounding so hard in the silence I could hear every beat in my ears. I took a big gulp. I just put the book back in my trunk and walked away.
I didn't quite know how to react to this. Is this what this mark means? Is it just a coincidence?
I felt a bit drowsy. “Hi we were just about to call you to come downstairs. We're going to head to the room of requirement. Are you ready?” Hermione asked. “Oh er- yeah lets go.”
*
When every one came to the room of requirement, Harry decided to show us how to use a Patronus. “Thanks again for coming, and I think we'll get started. This is how you do it. Think of the happiest memory you have and really concentrate on it hard and say Expecto Patronum!” Harry explained and a big silver stag rose from his wand. It pranced and danced around as if it was in water and glided over everyone’s heads.
“Now you try!” Everyone was trying to think of their memories. I found this one hard because I wasn't quite sure which was the happiest. “You probably won't get it at first but keep trying.” Harry motivated everyone. Surprisingly Hermione found this spell extremely difficult! Who knew there was a spell that Hermione Granger could not get the hang of!
