Christian's POV:

*Anastasia Grey* My phone buzzes and her name pops up on my screen. Shit. I hope this isn't what I hope it is...

"Christian..." Her broken voice echoes through my ear. Please, no. "Why... Please tell me this isn't true." I can feel the pain as she speaks.

"What are you talking about?" I try to talk in an innocent voice, but my voice turns into a high-pitched noise.

"Don't talk to me as if you have no clue what I am talking about!" Even through her cries, I hear the anger behind it. "You know exactly what I am talking about!"

"Okay, I know! I was going to tell you." I try to defend myself, but my mouth doesn't obey.

"Stop. Just stop." The voice cracks are replaced with a serious and commanding tone. "Please. Just tell me this isn't true..."?

"I-- Yes, it is."

Anastasia's POV:

My heart drops.

"No... You-- You promised!" I can't believe it.

"I know, but you don't understand. You were being a jerk that night!" Is he raising his voice?!

"Don't turn this on me! You are the one who fucked up! After everything we have been through... You just throw it away!" I was expecting him to say that this wasn't true, what Elena said wasn't true.

"Well, I'm sorry!" The speaker vibrates as he sarcastically shouts. "You're not the one that found out you have a twin brother. You are not the one who's been lied to his whole life. And most importantly, you are not the one who's life is fucked up!"

"Fucked up? You think your life is fucked up?" He must be joking right now. "You have a daughter on the way, a wife who loves you so dearly, and a family that has supported you ever since you came into their lives." I'm crying now. "How can you not see that?"

Silence. Only my sobs.

"Look, we both made a mistake here." His voice immediately calms me. "You shouldn't have gone to see Elena behind my back and neither should I." I open my mouth to defend myself but Christian cuts me off. "I'm really sorry. Please forgive me."

I weigh the pros and cons on whether or not I should be mad at him. What a child I am! Why do I need to do that?

"Yes." That one word that can change everything in your life. From the answer to marriage to a tiny argument. I mean he is my husband. I love him despite every mistake he makes.

"Will you come home now?" I can sense the desperation in his voice.

"Of course. I'm already on my way home."

"I'm sure you are. I will be waiting." I can imagine the excited and happy smirk on his face.

"I'll see you later." I hang up first without saying bye.

That was intense. I hate fighting over the phone. I never know what he is doing. God, I'm so done with life these days. I feel as though everything single thing is being rested on my shoulders. And having sex won't solve that problem... Maybe it's just the hormones?

"Sawyer, please take the long way home."

About an hour later, Sawyer pulls the car into the garage. Christian is waiting with his arms crossed at the door.

"Where the fuck have you been?!" He jumps at my throat as soon as my foot is out the car.

"I was in the car. Where else would I be?" Christian looks at Sawyer but he nods.

"When I called you, you said you were on your way home?"

"I needed to think for a while. Just needed to be away from all of this." I wave my hands towards the space between him and I. Either it is the headlights of the car or the fact that he is mad that his face is turning a little red.

"You wanted space from this? Us?" The pain is clear in his eyes. Looking down, I nod. I look up to see him take a step back. His face is full of shock and pain, as if someone had just punched him in the stomach.

"Christian..." I walk towards him but he takes more steps back.

"You want some space, I'll give you some space." His voice is quiet but dead serious.

"That's not what I meant." I try to defend myself as I quickly come up with a lie.

"Oh yeah? Tell me then, what did you mean?" He leans forward a little.

"Well, w-w-what I meant t-to say was... um." I stutter.

"See, you can't even hide the shame with a lie." He tells me. "Tell me when you are ready to talk to me. I'm sure then, you will have had enough space!" He says as he turns his back to me to walk away.

I'm left there, confused and wondering what just happened.

A few minutes pass before I realize that I am just standing here with Sawyer behind me.

"Sawyer." I say while standing taller. "You can go back to the penthouse."

"But Mrs. Grey, I have to follow orders from Mr. Grey."

"Do you see Mr. Grey around here?" I ask sarcastically while looking around.

"No, Mrs. Grey, but--"

"You shall now follow my orders." He looks at me confused but recovers from it.

"Of course." He walks away, knowing what I will not do next: go home.

Once again, I need to clear my head. Without walking out the main entrance, I go through the garage door. I leave my purse with my phone in it before leaving. I wouldn't want Christian knowing where I went.

The breeze hits my face as soon as I start strolling the alley. I realize I only brought my elegant jacket and I start to shiver.

"What are you doing out here?" A deep and raspy voice makes me leap. I hear man's footsteps become louder, but I stay still, paralyzed of fear. As the light of the lamppost allows me to define the man's physique, I immediately recognize him.

Christian's twin...
