Carters POV
I wake up at 5am and go downstairs before getting a drink and breakfast. When I'm done I go into the living room to see Dad and Vic asleep on the sofa. I smile and go upstairs before getting into my uniform and putting my dogtags on before grabbing my bag and getting Nova all kitted up before calling a taxi. I then grab money and go downstairs. I go outside and stand there until the taxi pulls up. When I get in the driver says "where to." I smile and say "Navy base please." They nod and start driving. When we get there I hand them money before getting my bag out of the boot and walking in. After being checked in I walk to our bunk room before texting Jason asking if he can get me some relentless. I get a reply saying yep so I play with Nova for 20 minutes. When she gets bored I put her lead on and walk to the kitchen. I walk in and yell "Mario you here." He then walk out from behind the counter and says "You want a coffee." I smile and say "yes please." He nods and makes me one in my mug before giving Nova a slice of bacon. After saying bye I walk back to the bunk room to see everyone waiting. Jason looks at me so I say "what I need coffee." He shakes his head before saying "make sure you have all equipment." I nod and check my stuff before Jason passes me a backpack. I open it to see relentless, beer and some cigarettes. I look at him and say "why do I have this." He smiles slightly before saying "it's your second tour and it is worst than last time. However always have a team member with you before smoking." I nod and grab my bags before walking out and onto the plane. When everyone is in we take off so I put my headphones in and listen to my dads music. After a few hours my phone dies so I plug it in and Theo says "why do you only talk about your dad." I smile slightly and say "my mum died in a car crash when I was 5. I was in the car when it happened, drunk driver. I was rushed to hospital and in a coma for five months. When I woke up I got told my mum was dead." He nods and walks of then Jason says "get ready to land." We all get into our seats and strap ourselves in. I then get Nova on my lap and hold her as we land. After a few minutes the door of the plane opens so we all get out with our equipment. When we walk into that base Jason walks me to my bunk room. When we get there he says "I'm right next door with the guys if you need anything." I nod and walk in to see two others in the room. I walk over to the empty bunk and put my bags on it before taking Novas equipment off. I then take her lead off and get her on the bed. One of the others says "you must be Carter, I'm Jessie." I nod and say "do you know about the mission we have." She nods and says "one of our units have been taken hostage." I nod and open my bag taking out a beer. I offer her one and she takes it so we drink and she says "aren't you too young for this." I smile and say "Jason brought them for me, it's my second tour and we only got off that one 4 days ago." She nods and goes back to her bunk so I sit listening to my dad sing. After a while Jason knocks on the door and says "Carter we are getting ready to go." I turn my phone off and put Novas lead on before walking out. When we get to where the team is Jason says " Carter, Billy, Mick, Theo and Joal with me, everyone else is with Loki." We all nod before going to our bunks and getting ready. I put all of Novas equipment on before walking to the meet point. When I get there I grab my gun and ammo pouches before going to the helicopter. When the rest of the team are in we leave.
