Carters POV
I wake up and put my uniform on before walking to the nursery. I pick Aiden up and kiss his forehead before saying "mummy has to go and save some people ok, I love you and have a good day with your daddy and his friends." I then put him down and go to Raven. I do the same with her before putting some quiet music on. I walk out to see Andy leaning against the wall. He smiles and I go over and give him a kiss and he says "do you really think I'm their dad." I nod and say "of course I do, they don't need to know what happened and you act like their dad." He nods and kisses me again before saying "go kick some ass." I nod and say "I normally do." He kisses me again and says "when your on your way back message me and I will meet you at the base with the twins." I nod and he runs into our room before running out. He slips my dog tags on before saying "see you later." I nod and grab my bag before walking downstairs. I see dad on the sofa so I walk over and give him a hug and say "dad what's wrong." He smiles slightly and says "Vic broke up with me." I sigh and say "this has happened before just give him some time and he will realise how much of a dick he was." He nods and stands up before saying "let's get you to the base then." We then walk out of the door.
When we get to the base I give dad a hug before getting out. I walk in to see the General stood there. I salute and he nods so I continue to the bunk room. I walk in to see a secondary commander there. I smile and walk over, I look at him and say "Carter Quinn reporting for duty under Commander Blackburn." He nods and says "All right guys this is Carter, she is the only member from Jason's team that wasn't on that mission, Carter this is Ray,Sonny,Brock,Clay Spencer and James Urie." I nod and he says "get ready to leave." I nod and walk over to my cage. I open it and someone says "so Kellin Quinn's daughter is on the teams." I smile and say "so Brendon Uries brother is on the teams." He smiles and says "so why weren't you on that mission." I look down and say "I was raped on the mission before and had given birth so maturity leave I guess." He nods before Blackburn says "get to the plane." I grab my bag and close my cage before walking out to the plane. When I have go my hammock set up I lie in it and Ray says "so why did Jason request a teenager to be on this team." I groan and sit up before saying "because I was his best shooter, and I have already saved his life multiple times." He nod and walks off. I smile and lean back before Blackburn walks over. He looks at me and says "are you sure you want to do this mission, I could keep you in the base." I shake my head and say "I'm fine." He nods and says "how are the twins." I smile and say "they're good, they are spending the day with my boyfriend." He nods and walks off. I put my headphones in and listen to music. Eventually James pulls my headphones out and says "we just landed." I nod and climb out of my hammock and put it Way a before grabbing my bag and walking out. When we get to the base I get told I had to choose someone on the team to bunk with. I look at James and he nods so we walk to our room. We get settled before we walk out to the briefing room. When we get there we get told what's happening so we go and get kitted up. James and I then walk out and get on the helicopter.
When we land we all run off to the door of the compound. Ray looks at me and says "how do you think the best way to proceed is." I smile and say "leave two people here to guard and the rest of us split into groups to see if we can get in without being noticed." He nods and says "who agrees with the kid." Everyone puts their hands up and Ray says "Me and Sonny will stay and guard, Brock and James go Left, Carter and Clay to the right." I nod and start walking right. Clay catches up and we keep walking until we find a drain. Clay radios for everyone else to come to us and went we arrive we crawl in. When we are in the compound we clear it before going through and opening all of the doors. We come to the last one and Ray opens it and walks in. He then yells "Sonny bring the bolt cutters in." Sonny then goes in and people from my team slowly appear from the room. Last is Jason. He looks at me and I run at him and hug him. He hugs back and we start walking back to the exfil point. When we get there we get in the helicopters and fly back to base.
When we arrive we get sent to our bunk rooms to collect our things. We then walk out and get on the plane. I get my hammock out and set it up before getting in. I put my headphones in and listen to music. Then I get a text off of Andy. I smile and text him back saying we were on the plane back. After a while Jason walks over so I take my headphones out. He smiles and says "thanks for agreeing to be on that team, everyone agreed that your should be there." I nod and say "has Ray spoken to you yet." He shakes his head and says "what did you do now." I smile and say "may have found a quiet way into the compound when it was obvious he wanted to blow the door." He nods and says "so you basically led a unit." I shrug and say "I prefer the term guided." He shakes his head and says "you know you might get a promotion for this." I shrug and lean back then James walks over. He smiles and says "I heard Blackburn talking to the General and you have a promotion heading your way." I smile and say "it doesn't really bother me if I get promoted or not, I love my job and that is all I care about." He nods and sits on the opposite side of me. I then lean back and put my headphones in before I drift off to sleep.
