Carters POV
I wake up in a car that's moving. I sit up and turn my head to see Jason driving. I smile and say "where are we." He looks at me and smiles slightly before saying "5 clicks away from base." I nod and sit back before Jason says " you should probably text you dad to tell him your at the base instead of school." I nod and get my phone out before sending the text. When I put my phone out Jason turns the engine off and we get out. When we walk in we go past security before heading to the green team locker room. When we get there Jason tells me to sit down and wait so I do. He leaves for about 10 minutes before coming back in with a puppy. He let's go of the lead and it comes running towards me. I kneel down on the floor as the puppy reaches me. It jumps up wagging its tail and starts licking me. I stroke it and it sits next to me. I look at Jason to see him smiling. I give him a weird look and he says "this puppy has just completed her training however she needs a home and a trainer. The colonel suggested that she goes to you." I nod and smile before he chucks me a lead. I put the lead on before standing up and walk over to Jason. He nods so we walk out and he grabs a bag before we go to front desk. After we sign out I get handed papers before we walk out to his car. He puts the bag in the boot before I get in the back with the puppy. After I put my seat belt on I look at the papers to find she had already been named. I start stroking her only to see Jason outside with a gun against his head. I open the hatch on the top of the car before sliding down the side. I quickly run into the base with out being seen. When I get inside I see the colonel stood there. He sees me there before I quickly say "I need a gun." He gives me a confused look so I point out the window. He passes me his pistol before I walk outside before aiming and taking the shot. I look to the side to see news vans lined up with cameras rolling. I turn and walk back in. Jason runs in and gives me a hug before handing me some sunglasses. I put them on and we walk out only to see a reporter had made it past security. They look at me and say "are you the one who just fired a bullet." I nod and they ask who I am. I smile and take my glasses of before saying "Carter Quinn." They nod and say "why did they give you a gun." I say "A few days I got back from my first tour. I had a flashback and my commander was called before he brought me here. I was in the car after getting my emotional support dog when I saw him with a gun to his head. I got out the car and ran into the base to get a gun. When I came out I aimed and took the shot. Many people may believe I am too young but if I wasn't a seal I would have still done it. I would do it a million times if it meant innocent people don't die just because others don't like them." I then put my glasses back on and walk to the car. I get in the back and start stroking Nova, my puppy. When Jason gets in he starts the engine before driving out the base. After a while Jason says "did you really mean what you said to the reporter." I smile and say "have I ever said anything I don't mean." He smiles and says "we are ten minutes away from your house." I nod and stroke Nova before Jason stops the car. I get out before picking Nova up and getting the bag Jason grabbed. I walk up to the door and say "bye Jason." He nods so I open the door and walk in to see dad sat in the living room. I slam the door and he turns to see me there. I put the bag down before taking Novas lead off. I walk over to the sofa and sit next to dad with Nova on my lap. He smiles and strokes her before the tv says "today there was an emergency at the navy base." I look up to see me getting out of the car. I smile and lead back before dad says "so you miss school to shoot someone." We both start laughing and I end up falling on the floor. After 10 minutes we stop and dad says "Vic is coming over to join us for tea." I nod and say "Can I go out with a friend." He nods and says "will you be eating there." I nod so he says "fine you can go, but you take your dog."
