Carters POV
I wake up and turn to see Jack awake and smiling. I smile and give him a kiss before sitting up. He kisses me before giving me a massive hug and says "I wish you could stay here." I smile and say "yeah but what about the twins." He nods and says "we should get ready for when your coach leaves." I nod and walk to the bathroom before texting my teacher asking if I could go with Jack in his car. A few minutes later she replies saying I can so I walk to the kitchen where Jack is making pancakes so I jump on his back. He turns and smiles so I say "my teacher said I can go in your car." He nods and dished the pancakes up so we sit and eat. When we are finished I get a text of off Jason. I smile and text him back before turning my phone off and I go and get dressed. When I'm done Jack smiles and says "are you ready to leave." I nod and grab my bag before we walk out and get in the car. When Jack gets in he starts driving and I get a text off of Jason telling me to go to the base. I sigh and say "can you take me to the navy base please." He nods and say "do you know why you need to go." I shake my head and say "it won't be a mission so I will probably have to inform a family if someone gets injured or killed." He nods and turns into the base. I get out of the car and we walk in. I see Blackburn stood there. I salute and he says "I need you to inform the family of James Urie that his platoon was caught in an IED." I nod and walk out. I get in the car before I guide Jack to my house.
When we arrive I get out and we walk up to the door. I open it and we walk in before a load of people yell "happy birthday." I sigh and run upstairs before getting into my dress uniform. I then walk back downstairs and dad says "what's going on." I sigh and say "do you know where Brendon Urie lives." He nods and says "he came here for you birthday party though," I nod and say "can you get everyone but him out of the room please." He nods and everyone clears out. I look at Brendon and say "I'm sorry to inform you that James was caught in an IED with his platoon. He has still not been found so the extent of his injuries is unknown." He nods and gives me a hug. I hug him back and say "I told them I won't go on missions for a year but I am going to go and be on the team to get them out." He nods then everyone walks back in. I walk out to see dad talking to Jack. I smile and walk over and dad says "so he's your boyfriend." I nod and he says "well as long as he doesn't hurt you it's fine." I nod and grab Jacks hand before dragging him upstairs to the nursery. When we walk in I immediately pick Raven up. Jack smiles so I pass her to him and pick Aiden up. Jack smiles and takes Aiden off of me and says "how old are they." I smile and say "8 months." He nods and says "when are you going." I sigh and say "tonight," He nods then Aiden starts crying so Jack gives him back to me. I calm him down before putting him in his crib and Jack does the same with Raven. We then walk out and we go downstairs. Everyone apart from dad and Brendon are gone. Dad looks at me and smiles before saying "when were you going to tell me about you going to help." I smile and say "right now dad, I'm going to help." He shakes his head and says "what if there is another one and you get caught in it." I sigh and say "dad do you really think there could be multiple bombings on a navy base without them investigating it."
