He wasn't really prepared, but he had to believe he was. Just like how he really didn't want to see your lifeless and pale body, but he had to see if it was actually you. The questions were killing him with no mercy given. But they didn't kill him as much as seeing your distinctive tattoo behind you ear on the same body that was being examined by the police. The same tattoo he'd trace with his cold fingers that would give you goosebumps.
Now you we're gone. And in a way, so was he.
