cody and maxx had always been the best of friends, practically since birth. they had went through school together and were always there for eachother when they needed it most. the two boys were pretty trustworthy and felt like they could tell eachother absolutely anything they had on their mind, and no one else would know. it was that kind of friendship.

i anxiously started to bounce my leg, peering over at maxx through all of the other boy's laughter. maxx took notice of this and started to get up, sighing softly as i got up with him. "maxx and i just need to have a talk to eachother about some stuff." i say to the guys, and they nod. brendon interrupted our footsteps by yelling; "DON'T FUCK WHILST YOU'RE AT IT!" and i sighed, face-palming before replying. "WE'RE BOTH STRAIGHT, BREN." i yelled back at him before disappearing into the hallway with maxx and closing the door.

-maxx's pov-

i give cody a concerned look, he hasn't done anything like this in a while. he stared at me and i stared at him. i saw that he had forced a cough to break the slightly awkward silence, so i retaliated by raising up my voice. "y-you alright..?" i ask, a sweet smile lingering on my lips. he chuckled softly and ran a hand through his perfect, golden-brown hair and sighed softly. "maxx.. i-i have a crush on someone.."

i was snapped out of my thoughts when i heard cody yell my name. "h-hm..? what..?" i say, my cheeks flushed a pale crimson.

"i was telling you about her.. my crush..?" he responded with a chuckle.

i physically felt my heart shatter and forced back the urge to let every tear go. good job maxx, always setting yourself up for heartbreak! "oh.. keep going, i wanna hear about this lucky lady." i said with a broken chuckle, my voice cracking.
