"Junhui."
"Yes, Wonwoo dearest?"
"Care to explain the fuck's happening right now?"
"Well-" Junhui couldn't really explain it himself.
One moment they were running back home before the rain could get any worse, the next moment they're in a royal carriage heading to the king's palace. He looks up at his two best friends. Wonwoo was muttering to himself while clutching his hair with both his hands. Meanwhile Joshua, the person usually to calm everyone down in situations similar to this, looked lifeless as he slouches down the red cushioned chair.
How did they end up here?
—
"How would you like to serve for the king of Ahomore?"
Huh.
HUH.
Joshua and Wonwoo whip their heads towards the advisor, not comprehending what he had just said.
"Wh-what?" Junhui stutters out with widened eyes.
"You bumped into a few minutes ago, I couldn't really focus but I felt a fiery aura enclosing your figure." Soonyoung explains as he crosses his arms.
"Fiery just means powerful, right? There are tons of other people with those kind of auras!" Junhui exclaims, but is careful not to raise his voice too high. The advisor shakes his head.
"Your aura isn't your typical strong aura Junhui, it's...unusual to say the least." Junhui furrows his eyebrows further.
"But, how could I have an aura? I'm powerless!" It was the truth. Growing up, little Junhui had to watch his friends develop their powers while he only filled himself with false hope that he would establish one of his own. Sadly, that had never happened.
"You aren't aware of what you're capable of, Wen Junhui." He states simply.
"We'd like to hire you as a staff member for the Ahomore palace. We want to keep an eye on you and train you-"
"Train me?" He cuts him off.
"We'll explain later, are you up for it?" Seungkwan says.
To be completely honest, it was kind of exciting. The idea of living in a palace. Being able to serve for a king. He could see what it was like to be living as royalty- well, someone serving royalty- still. Junhui contemplates as he stares down at the table. He turns to his two friends.
Joshua nods while Wonwoo gives him an unsure smile.
He sighs. As fun as living in a castle sounds, he doesn't want to leave. Leaving the farm, his home land, his friends- no, brothers wasn't worth living in a big castle.
Junhui turns back to the royals determinedly.
"Thank you, but I have to decline. I don't want to leave behind my friends."
Wonwoo and Joshua look at him bewilderment. "Junnie, no- you don't have to, this is important-" Joshua says quickly.
Jun shakes his head and smiles. "It isn't worth leaving you two."
Soonyoung sighs and pushes his chair back to stand up while Seungkwan mirrors his actions.
"Very well then, I'll arrange a carriage to pick all of you three up in ten minutes." Soonyoung says as he picks up his coat and puts it on.
"Only pack your essentials. Don't bother bringing any clothing as we will provide it for you, let's go Kwan." Seungkwan nods and turns to the three friends.
"See you." He claps his hands twice and the two royals are gone in a flash.
"Well..."
—
The carriage finally arrives at the big golden gates. The three watch in fascination as two guards open the shining gates, revealing the outdoor entrance to the palace. The carriage stops right at the main entrance to the palace.
The door to the carriage is opened for them by one of the royal guards.
Junhui takes a deep breath and exhales as he stands up to leave the vehicle.
"Welcome to the palace, boys."
