Once were two queens who ruled peacefully.
The eldest sister, Minyoung ruled happily and spread her warmth towards her kingdom, allowing sunshine for days. People, adults and children alike cheerfully run and dance each day as they bask in the light of their queen.
The youngest sister, Minhee however was not at all similar to the elder. Her kingdom lived happily. People played with the snow and skated on the ice each and every day. Her people trusted and were ultimately loyal to her. They respected her.
But that wasn't enough for her.
She wanted more.
Minhee started to gain more and more control over her people which eventually turned them into emotionless ice creatures called Satrins.
Minyoung of course took notice of this and tried countless times to confront her, to set the poor people out of their trance.
Each and everyday the two would argue. Minhee wanting to rule over both lands and Minyoung rejecting and begging her to set her own subjects free from her curse.
After a while Minhee had had enough.
A powerful war was struck between the two sisters.
Minyoung knew she was no chance against her sister, so she stored her powers in a weapon unknown to this day, and hid her kingdom to a protected place to keep her subjects safe from her sister's clutches.
After doing so, she allowed Minhee to take her life.
Though, Minyoung believed one day would come a knight to rightfully take the weapon and set the Satrins free.
Soonyoung finishes and closes the book with a loud thud. Meanwhile Junhui looked as if he had been lied to his entire life.
Sure, he had been told this story a couple of times before, but never had he ever heard of a "Satrin" or some sort of secret weapon before.
"Many believe the 'knight' is some sort of reincarnation of Queen Minyoung." Soonyoung stands up and puts the book back in the shelf.
"I am highly skeptical of that rumour, but who knows?" Right after he finishes, the door opens and Minghao walks in yawning. "You're up early." The advisor says with sarcasm clear in his voice.
Minghao smiles back in mock sweetness. "Thank you Soonyoungie." The said man rolls his eyes.
Junhui stands up and bows at the still tired boy. "Your majesty,"
The boy however, is taken aback and looks over at the boy bowing to him.
"Soonie who is this ripped farm boy bowing to me." He asks Soonyoung with a straight face, to which he earns a slap to the back of his head. "Sit down you brat." Minghao puts both his arms up in surrender and pulls a chair next to Junhui.
"Now, as you may know about Minghao here passing out during the coronation. Due to that, we'll be postponing the ball to three weeks from now." Minghao groans loudly and Junhui looks at him in confusion.
"Soonie please, i'm completely healthy already. Can we please just get it over with?"
"No, we can't Hao, I don't want you blacking out while you stuff your face with the specially made royal cupcakes." Minghao sets his lips in a thin line and doesn't bother retorting back to the older.
"And you, Junhui," The advisor turns to the said boy.
"You'll be training alongside your friend Wonwoo so you are able to fight any threat if you're in any situation similar to that."
Junhui blinks.
"Okay...? Why'd you have to tell me that whole story though?" As soon as he asks, Soonyoung turns his head back at the king.
"Hao, you wanna tell him?" Minghao sputters.
"Why should I-"
"Minghao." Soonyoung says sternly which he rolls his eyes and huffs.
"Okay uhh, about... three years ago? a shitload of Satrins had somehow found the portal to Ahomore and started turning some of us into them." Junhui sees the boy visibly shiver at the memory.
"Mom and dad tried to fight off the Satrins- they were successful in their part, but..." He looks down at the ground. "They were...killed when fighting the last ones off." He says the last part in a slight whisper, but loud enough for the both of them to hear.
Soonyoung leans against the book shelf. "Before they did though, they transferred their powers to Minghao and he was able to kill all them off before they did any more damage."
Junhui nods and the air is slightly tense. Minghao's head is still facing the ground, as if he was remembering a bad memory- which he most probably was. Soonyoung slightly shakes his head.
"Anyways, like I said Junhui- you'll be training to make sure no Satrin lays a hand on Minghao."
