I turned around to see a pair of bright blue eyes staring back at me.
"Holden?" I asked, turning around. "Hey, babe." he winked. He reached for my hand and gave it a small kiss. "Oh My God! I have to get ready!" I gasped.
"Hey, I'm in no hurry, take you're time." he smiled, but not his usual smile.
I gave a quick glance at Holden who was wearing tan shorts and a tight white shirt, with his hair tousseled perfectly. I ran to my closet and pulled ona light pink strapless sundress and my white strappy sandals and quickly went to straighten my hair.
"Wooh, I am finally ready." I said, gazing at my reflection in the mirror. I look good, if I do say so myself. "Alright, let's go then." he smirked, wrapping an arm around my waist. We walked down the stairs stopping at Mom's room to say a quick goodbye.
"Bye Mom!" I'm going out with Holden." I yelled. "K, honey be back by midnight," I heard her say.
She honestly thinks I'll be home by midnight? Hah, he always keeps me out late.
"Don't worry Mrs. Morgan, I'll have her back by eleven thirty tops." he replied.
What.The.Hell. He has to be lying... he has to be.
We headed out the door and down to his black corvette. I walked over to my door waiting for him to open it like he always does. "Ahem." he murmured. Awaiting for me to get in. Wow, what the hell is up with him today?
"Oh, uh sorry." I sighed as I stepped in the passenger side, lightly shutting my door. Turning the ignition we headed down the road. "So, uh where are we going?" I asked eagerly. "It's a surprise." he replied, a stern expression suddenly taking over his face.
"Um, is something wrong?" I asked nervously. It took him a second to answer before he whispered out a "no." I leaned over, almost resting my head on his shoulder before I whispered sternly, "Don't lie to me Holden."
"Nothing is wrong I-uh promise." Oh, cause I'm obviously going to believe you when you say it like that. "Alright, Holden cut the crap. What's wrong? You know you can tell me." I said comfortingly.
"I was kind of waiting until we got to where I'm taking you." he whispered. Shit. Why does he scare me like that? "Oh, okay."
We pulled up in a fancy restaurant called; 'A La Mode's parking lot.
"Uh, can you go inside and get our reservation ready? Its under my name. I'll go park the car." he said in a hushed tone. What is with his quietness? I for one, do not like it.
"Oh sure." I replied, putting on a half smile. I walked up into the big glass doors where I was greeting by a man taking my jacket to out it on a hook. Wow, fancy. Walking over to the front desk, the lady who's name tag said Wendy asked," reservation or walk in?"
"Oh, reservation."
"Name?" she replied, flipping her blonde hair over her shoulder and sucking in her cheeks.
"Holden Burnes." I said politely. "Ah, here we are, right this way." she said as she led me towards a gorgeous dinner for two lighted by candles.
"Thank you." I smiled as she handed me the menus and walked off towards the front.
Hmm, chicken parmesean? Nah. Maybe Caviar? I've always wanted to try that.
"Hey." Holden said, interrupting my thoughts; taking a seat across from me. "Hey," I smiled back. "so.. what is wrong?" I asked clearly getting to the point.
"Well," he paused. "We need to talk about something."
Oh shit. No.
"Ab-" I started, my palms starting to sweat. "About what?" I choked out.
"I did something, something not good."
