Athena watched out the window at the bunnies in her front yard. Each bunny was different, but different in its own way. Some of them were white, others grey, and some had the fluffiest brown ears. She found the bunnies really cute.

Suddenly her mom ran into the room picking up her wallet checking for cash. Athena watched attentively as her mom started to stress as she paced back and forth silently. She could hear her mom's worries about the money and rent, even though she didn't express them out loud.

"Are you okay momma?" Athena whispered.

Athena's mom turned to her with tears in her eyes, but as soon as she saw he daughter's face she smiled.

"Yes, my sweet girl. We are gonna be okay, why don't you get your jacket on and we will go on a walk. Maybe we can go to the pet store and see the bunnies" Her mom rushed her into her room.

With a smile Athena put on her jacket excited to see the fluffy animals. As soon as she was done she ran out to her mom giving her a hug. The two of them did not go out much, her mom refused, so the fact that they were going made Athena so happy. She loved going outside even if her mom wouldn't let her. With a smile her momma held out a hand as she opened the door.

Together they jumped into a cab and headed across town to the waterfront district. Most stores were down this way so Athena thought nothing of it. Until they pulled in front of an older building. This was not the pet store. Athena turned to her mom trying to understand where they were, but Athena couldn't get into her thoughts. Once the car officially stopped Athena watched as her mom got out and motioned for her to follow.

The old building was filled with lights, but none of them were on. Immediately fear started to rise in her.

"Momma I want to see the bunnies" Athena whispered hoping her mom would listen to her. Her mom's eyes went glassy as she stopped almost ready to turn around before she looked down at her daughter.

"Athena you need to calm down" Athena's mom went eye level with the 7 year old. Athena took a couple of deep breathes before nodding. Once she completely calmed her and her mom walked further in to the building.

In the corner sat two men one looking oddly familiar, there was the first one who was smoking a chunky cigar and then he was talking to the other man who had a monocle. Athena watched the two men converse, but they grew quiet as her and her mother approached.

Hello there little one I know you can hear me, don't worry all will be explained in time

Suddenly images came to her mind of when she was younger. Like a baby younger

Athena gasped at the thoughts of the man in the monocle, it was as if his thoughts were directed completely to her, immediately she coward behind her mom.

"Momma..."

"MOMMA"

-

Athena jumped up in shock as she woke up from whatever dream or flashback she was trapped in. The sound of mumbling made her turn to the side. It was the man, the one from the bar, who sat there talking to himself.

As if on cue the man turned around with a smile.

"Hi welcome back" The man smiled as he went and sat in a chair next to her. Athena watched as his eyes flicked back and forth almost as if there was something behind her.

"Where-" Athena started, but the man cut her off.

"This is my family's house, you passed out so I thought to take you here to get some help." The man smiled which caused Athena to nod. Altogether the situation was kind of weird, but she couldn't help but feel grateful. She didn't have anyone so the fact that even this random stranger wanted to help her meant a lot.

The man then got up and took out the IV out of her arm, which she didn't even realize was there. The pain in her head started to act up again. She hated this feeling so much.

I don't even know her name. Do I just ask? Is she okay?

"My name's Athena, and I am alright despite your thoughts going a mile a minute" Athena clutched her head as the boys thoughts ran rapid.

"How did you..." The man had a weird look in his eye as he now stared down at her.

Out of the corner of the room Athena heard multiple footsteps. Suddenly three people appeared, well two actually, the other one was an actually walking monkey. Fear started to rise in Athena's chest as she grabbed onto the stranger's arm hoping that some how he could help her.

The man looked down at her and placed a hand over hers, which calmed her down quite a bit.

"Klaus why didn't you tell us she's awake?' The new man dressed in all black spandex criticized.

Klaus...

Athena watched as her new savior, Klaus, went back and forth with the new man. Meanwhile, the new women walked over to her and grabbed her arm causing Athena to pull back and jump off the table.

The women looked confused, but it was Athena's turn when the monkey started to talk.

"Athena we do not intend to hurt you" The monkey began to talk.

I know who and what you are

The monkeys thoughts came straight through causing Athena to clutch her head. The new guy then stopped talking to turn towards Athena causing her to get more self conscious.

"Athena, that is my delightful brother Diego. And I mean it when I promise you that you are alright here. Grace and Pogo come in peace" Klaus came over putting a hand once again on my shoulder with a quirky smile. A part of Athena was genuine worried for this man, Klaus. It was like his mood bounces back and forth and not to mention he talks to himself, but yet here she was.

Safe.

Protected.

All from a stranger that she shared only a few words to at a bar and who helped her when she passed out. With her head held high she nodded as she let the people help her.
