Inside Your Mind; Umbrella Academy

The next day Athena found herself all alone with Five in the basement area. After her little victory she ended up passing out on the couch, but once she woke up Five announced that him and her were gonna have an "individual training session. This left Klaus upset, but he knew in the end it was what best.

They ended up not doing anything, but sitting there. He was starring at her, studying her. He was looking at her the way someone would look at a puzzle.

Five in reality was just curious about the brown hair girl. In his father's file he had pages of information on her. Apparently he had a friend at that club, Harold's, that always kept an eye on her. It seems though after she turned 17 all the files talked about was her addictions. No longer was she this girl with a brilliant mind, but rather a junkie who was only ruining herself.

For once in Five's life he actually did believe his father. Athena was ruining her potential, but he was determined to help her. She was the only way they even had a chance against his previous colleagues at the Commission.

"Get into my head" he cut off their silence finally starting their "training".

Athena watched the boy over as well now. He had a plan and he wasn't telling her. Those were not his thoughts, but his smug face gave him away. Not to mention they have barely done anything once she woke up With a sigh she stared at the boy and concentrated on him and him alone. Once again she tuned out everything else and focus on one thing. That one thing being the thoughts that were in Five's head.

She can do this

His thoughts made her smile as she nodded.

"Thank you for the vote of confidence, might have been more helpful than just demanding me to go into your head, but beggers can't be choosers especially with old geezers like you" Athena rambled.

Five on the other hand was amazed.

"Old Geezer?" he smirked staring at the girl who was now extremely confused. Why did she even say that, like she assumed that she just got those vibes off of him in a way. After all the boy was younger yet still seemed to be the family head and from what Klaus told her he apparently could time travel, those both seem like something that would mature someone quickly, maybe because he could time travel he can stay young

Confused Athena just nodded which made Five's smirk turn into a smile. That confused the poor girl even more. Five never had told Athena about his age and he was sure that Klaus only explained the basics of him and his siblings.

This was a breakthrough. It showed that not only that Athena could sense this just from being in someone's head, but that she was finally getting a grasp of controlling that mind of hers. From the looks Athena was still in his head which means she just got the run down as well.

She turned away breaking what ever mind connection was going on between the two. Athena was just trying to comprehend all of this. Five really was an old guy and some how she could tell that from someone's mind. Her mind then back to what he also said. She was actually showing signs of improvement.

"Your mind can do wonderful things Athena, you should go celebrate our new discovery" Five gave a nod to the girl. Athena struggled to comprehend what the boy actually meant, this was Five. Five was not the person to just "let her off the hook".

"Did I hear the word celebration." Klaus twirled around the banister of the stairs making himself visible.

Athena watched the boy who had a big smile on his face as he looked between both his brother and the dark haired girl. He was wearing a skirt that he took from Allison along with one of his black faux fur coats. Klaus even had on a pair of worn down combat boots. Last, but not least Dave's silver dog tags completed the look as they dangled perfectly on his bare chest.

Athena realized she was staring and completely turned away from the boy's direction a faint heat coming to her cheats. She thought Klaus was pretty attractive, but she never actually sat there and just admired at him. He was this person who had such a big impact on her life and not to mention, looked good while doing it. She couldn't help herself from feeling a way about the weird boy who could talk to the dead.

Klaus with a smile offered her to go get celebratory donuts together which Athena happily agreed to. She enjoyed Klaus, so she happily threw on her coat as they made their way to Griddy's.

It wasn't until they both got inside that Athena realized they were in the same donut shop from when her and Five first talked. Usually when people celebrate an accomplishment they go out and get a drink, but it felt refreshing to just sit down and get donuts with her new best friend. Never would she have thought in the near span of a week and a half that she would be in the spot that she was in now.

Sober, Happy, and with a great person.

Klaus and her started talking as soon as they sat down at the table. Athena felt she could tell him anything. The conversation was cut short when they had to order. Athena ordered the same donut as last time, a Boston crème, with a smile while Klaus laughed at the girl as he ordered a glaze.

Klaus watched the girl in fascination as she talked about how great the Boston crème donut was last time and how it would be a sin if he didn't try it. He realized that in a way Athena reminded him a lot of Dave. Both of them had such a large appreciation for the good when things were pretty shit. He wished he could be that way, but that was just not him so when he met Dave he felt drawn to him.

Just like how he now felt drawn to Athena.

Both of them enjoyed their donuts before walking home. Athena made Klaus promise to get a Boston Crème next time to which Klaus responded with his pinky raised. Athena couldn't help but giggle, almost like a school girl, at the boy as they pinky promised on the steps of the academy.

As soon as they walked in, Klaus took her jacket along with his to put into the coat room. Athena whispered a thank you as he walked away, only for Allison to fill in where the space he left.

"I'm sorry I have to do this, Five said I have to or they'll hurt Claire" It was then that Athena realized the girl had tears in her eyes. Immediately panic spread through her as Allison stepped closer.

"I heard a rumor, that you passed out" 

And before Athena could process what was happening, she was out like a light.
