Ahsoka had had a long day. She had helped the Onderon rebels gain their freedom but the price had been high. Steela Gerrera had fallen to her death after putting herself in the way of the gunship to save the king. Ahsoka still blamed herself for the incident. If only she had been faster. She had only been centremeters away from pulling Steela to safety and the look on Lux's face afterwards had made her feel worse. Of course she wouldn't deny the fact that she had been more than a little jealous of Lux's feelings for Steela but as a jedi it was her responsibility to help others.

Ahsoka sighed as she sat on the ground. As she let her eyes flicker open, she was surprised to see Lux turn the corner of the corridor to meet her. She could tell the pain of Steela's death still stung by the look on his face. He collapsed down next to her. He said nothing at first but then took a breath before saying, "Ahsoka, don't blame yourself for Steela's death. No one blames you. I don't blame you. She wouldn't want you to blame yourself like this." He put a hand on her shoulder.
Ahsoka felt a tear creep into her eye. "I was so close, I could've saved her. Lux... I'm so sorry."
Lux shook his head. "Don't be. You did everything you could." Only then did Ahsoka realise that Lux's hand was still placed on her shoulder. She felt her skin tingle underneath his fingers. As she looked into his bright blue eyes, she remembered the first day they'd met. At first she had been cautious around him, after all he was a separatist. However, she soon took a liking to him when they had started talking. As she replayed their first conversation in her head she couldn't help but crack a smile as she and Lux sat here together. Lux seemed to notice this and let out a small laugh. "What? What is it?"
Ahsoka blushed. "Um... Nothing it doesn't matter anyway." Hastily, she picked herself up and turned to walk away. Before, she could take a step further however, Lux grabbed her hand, pulling her to a hault.
"Hey, you're not getting away that easily!" He smiled at her. "Come on, it can't be that embarrassing."
Well... Ahsoka thought. "I..." she started, struggling to find the right words. "Well you see... I mean you... I..."
Lux let out a laugh as Ahsoka tried desperately to come up with an excuse for why she had smiled. He punched her playfully on the shoulder. "I'll tell you what, because you can't seem to find the words to tell me right now, you can tell me later."
Ahsoka let out a sigh of relief. Thank force for that.
"However," he continued.
Oh no.
"Because you won't tell me now, you're attending the ball with me this evening at the Royal Palace to celebrate Onderon's freedom."
Ahsoka's heart skipped a beat. Was he asking her on a date? No. Jedi aren't allowed to form attachments. "Well... Um you see the thing is... Er..."
Lux held up a hand to silence her. "No excuses Ahsoka. Come on you deserve a break from fighting for a while. Just this once celebrate a victory. Don't tell me the jedi forbid dancing?"
Ahsoka wracked her brains in order to come up with an excuse but at the same time she was overjoyed at Lux asking her to attend the ball with him. But of course she would never admit that to him. It was almost funny that she wasn't afraid of fighting wars but the idea of going to a ball with Lux terrified her. She looked up to see Lux smirking at her. She sighed. "Alright, just this once," she replied, giving in to his demand.
Lux beamed at her. "See you soon," he said before turning away and strolling down the corridor.
