Two Worlds

CHAPTER 6- Ugh School

"You want me to go to school?! B..but I just came here....."
She wasn't just being really kind, but really really kind, in a weird way. She picked me up from the streets, told me I could stay at her home from now, and now she's enrolling me in a random school.

"Well, you're going to be living in Pinrith from now. You might as well start getting adjusted living here"said Mrs.Fletcher smiling as she went to call someone on her phone.

"But do I have to go to school? I mean, I've already learnt a lot about this world in these few days".

"Trust me, that's not going to be enough. You can go ahead and sleep upstairs, I'll call up the principal and get you enrolled".

"B-But.....ugh. Fine." I sighed.
I found my way up the stairs, each step making a creaking noise. The stairs led to a room. It was small, well kept and had a peaceful vibe to it. I sat down on the bed looking out the windows that were in front which revealed an amazing view of the night sky and some buildings here and there.
But not even the view could lift up my spirits.

"I want to go back home...back to Luke and Ada." I sigh as I think of the memories the three of us shared, the times we played together, the times we trained together. Oh! And that one time we thought Luke lost himself in the forest. Ada and I spent the entire day searching for him, turns out he was at the cabin all along. The next second he got sent flying out the door. Yeah, Ada is scary when she's mad.

I chuckled, but only for a few seconds.

"Ugh, I really miss them." I fell back on the bed. I wonder how they would be doing. They would've joined the Academy by now, I've been kicked out so they don't have anything holding them back anymore".

I brought my arm over my eyes and let out a deep sigh....

Yup, those tears don't want to stay in.

When I opened my eyes it was already morning, I woke up to a beam of sunlight shining right on my face. I squinted my eyes, what time was it? I got up from the bed and stretched.
I should probably head downstairs....

I walked down the stairs. Mrs. Fletcher was busy preparing for breakfast.
"Ah! Good morning Reece, did you have a good night's sleep?" she asked as she was busy placing plates on the dining table.

"Umm...yeah".

"Glad to hear. Do you want to wash up while I get your breakfast ready?"she asked smiling. 
"Sure." I replied. It's been long time since I've changed out of my clothes and had a nice warm bath.
"Oh and I've got you some clothes and other stuff, I put them in the box over there." said Mrs.Fletcher pointing over to a box on a table.
"Oh wow...thanks Mrs.Fletcher". How did she even have time to do all these things?!
"No problem....I just want to make sure that you're happy being here." she put on a painful smile.
I return the smile back at her.

I brought the box upstairs and placed it on the floor.
"Hmm... where do I put this box?". I looked across the room.
Maybe I could stuff it in that closet over there...I opened the closet infront of the bed and pushed away some of the clothes that were already in there. I lifted up the box and put it inside.
"Perfect." I clapped off the dust on my hands.

I picked up some clothes and went to finally have the warm bath I've been yearning for. After bathing I put on a red shirt which had a hood and some black jeans and walked myself downstairs to eat.

Breakfast had already been waiting on the table. I hurry and sit down at the table to enjoy the food-toasted bread smeared with blueberry jam.

"Reece, are you ready to go to school today?" asked Mrs.Fletcher sitting down in front of me. "I called up the principal, he said you could start coming to school from today."
"Uhh...NO?! You were seriously being serious?!"

"Yes I was! School is different in Pinrith so the earlier you start going school the faster you'll get adjusted ."
"Oh come on, how different can it be". I rolled my eyes and continued to munch on the toast.

Okay yeah. I'll admit it's different. Well, not thaaat different but still different. The first class we had was math. And yes, I've studied math in Iledrith too. Back there children were educated on basic knowledge just like what schools teach here...except they were more simplified and easy to understand...but this...math don't even make sense.
I have no idea what's going on. Like literally no idea. I'm dying here!

After what seemed to be years, it was finally time for break. Everyone in the classroom started murmuring and chattering while staring at me. Yeah. It was annoying.
I got up from my desk walked towards the door. Just then this guy sticks out his leg, 'trying' to trip me. I ignored him and walked over his leg.

"Trying to act all cool huh?" says the guy who tried to trip me.
I ignore him and walk away. I was already pissed about the my life I'm not letting a human make my day worse.

"Hey! Where do you think you're going boy!" screamed the weirdo.
"Uhh...toilet?" I replied.

He got up from his desk.
"Well I don't think you know where it is, do you? How about I show you the way hmm?".

People started murmuring again, things like how he's gonna beat me up and stuff. He must be the school weird kid or something.

"I can find it myself thank you" I replied smiling. "Oh and your name doesn't happen to start with a D does it?"

"Yeah it does! My name's Darian, the most famous kid in school. Looks like you've already heard about me huh?" he replied lifting his chin up high.

"Ah, I thought it was something else...."

"Oh, what did you thin-...."
"Hey! Wait a minute what is that supposed to mean!?" he screamed.

Sheesh this guy is loud."I don't know, figure it out yourself " I wave my hand shooing him away and walk out the classroom.

Wow I was really lame back there, Reece calm down, just a few more hours and we'll be out of here.
You know what? Maybe I should just sneak out the school, this place is doing nothing but pissing me off and I've only gotten past the first class. Great.
Well that's decided then. I'm sneaking out.

I walked towards the school front door. "Hmm...Could I just walk out? I wondered, still walking.

Just then I bumped into someone.
"Ah! Sorry" I apologized.
"I..it's okay" she replied, her eyes fixed on the floor.
She looked familiar...I think she was someone from my class.
Well, anyways time to run out of this place.

Before I could leave, she grabs my arm.
"Umm, you're Reece right?" she asked, her black beady eyes now looking right into me.
"Yeah."
"Could we talk for a minute?".
