Chapter 3 : A Day Out

Time skip to 1 week later...

Ash's POV

"One more day before the tournament starts!" I shouted along with Pikachu."Time sure flies right buddy?" Pika~!  "C'mon buddy let's go outside!"

As we were going out of the house, I saw a familiar face standing outside of his house. "Hey Ash!" she said with a smile. "Hey Serena didn't expect to see you here."I replied. "Actually I was thinking..." Serena blushed. "D-do y-you wanna hang out?You know...before the tournament starts?" "Sure!" I replied with a smile.She quickly turned her head and started walking away.'Hmm...I wonder what's up with her? And why is her face so red? Does she have a fever?'

Serena's POV

'He is so cute when he smiles like that! Ash, why do you always have to make my heart beat fast when I'm around you?'  "So where do you wanna go Serena?" he asked. "Umm...I was thinking we should walk around Viridian City." I replied. "Sure" he replied with cute smile again. 'That cute smile again...' 

Ash's POV

'Why is her face so red? Does she fave a fever?' I thought."Hey are you okay." I said while putting a hand on her forehead. "Do you have a fever?"I asked with a worried expression. "No no I'm totally fine!"she answered with a smile. "I just feel a bit hot, that's all!" "Okay...if you say so." I replied.

Serena's POV

'Damn it Ash! I don't have a fever you dense little---' *sigh* 'You know what? Just forget it.' "Hello? Earth to Serena." he said waving a hand in front of me. "Sorry,I was just thinking about something. C'mon let's go!" I said while holding his hand.For some reason, he turned his around refusing to make eye contact. 'I could have sworn I saw him blushing before he turned his head. Never mind...it must've been my imagination.' I thought while shrugging.

Time ship to a few minutes later...

The walk to Viridian City was silent so I decided to break the silence. "So Ash,where do you wanna go?" I asked him. Before he could reply, his stomach suddenly growled."Heheh..." he said while scratching the back of his head. "Hehe...I guess we should go eat first.How about there?" I said while pointing to a beautiful restaurant decorated with beautiful flowers. "Sure!" he replied.

Third person POV

As soon as they went into the restaurant, they were greeted by none other than Clemont and Bonnie. "Hey Clemont and Bonnie, didn't expect to see you here!"Ash and Serena replied in unison. "Hey Ash and Serena, are you two going out on a date ? " asked Bonnie with a grin. "No, we are not!" Serena replied. "Then what are you two doing here ?" asked Clemont. "We just wanted to hang out...as friends." Serena replied. "Uh-huh.Sure.I totally believe you."said Bonnie sarcastically. "Don't worry Serena! I will make sure Ash will become your boyfriend! And don't you worry big brother! I will be sure to get you a girlfriend like Ash!" said Bonnie cheekily. "Bonnie!" Me, Ash and Clemont yelled in unison. "Just kidding!" she said."Not..." she mumbled. Luckily for her, no one heard her. They quickly ordered some food as they were all hungry.

After eating...

"That was a delicious lunch!" said Clemont. "I would love to hang out with you guys more, but I need to get back to the Pokemon Center to finish my experiment." "Okay then.Bye!" replied Ash.

"Bye!"

Serena's POV

After we said goodbye to Clemont and Bonnie,Ash held my hand and said "Hey Serena! I wanna show you something!" I replied with a simple nod before practically getting dragged by Ash.After a few minutes, we arrived in a clearing in the forest.There were lots of beautiful flowers everywhere. "Wow! It's beautiful Ash!" "I know right?"

We sat down on the ground and looked at the sun which was just setting. I looked over at Ash.'It's now or never Serena!' I thought with a determined expression. I was also a bit happy that I had finally plucked up the courage to tell him I like him. I also wonder if he remembers the kiss.
