Chapter 19 : Red vs Dark Ash

3rd person POV

"Let's begin...shall we?" Dark Ash smiled evilly. He threw out a Pokeball which revealed Krookodile. Krookodile's eyes glowed a bright red as it cried out loudly. Red however, wasn't intimidated.

"..." He threw a Pokeball, a Snorlax came out of it. "Krookodile! Use Dragon Claw!" Krookodile's claws glowed a black colour as it charged towards Snorlax. Snorlax was hit, sending it back a bit. 'He's good...' Red thought as he gritted his teeth. 'This might be harder than expected...'

"Stone Edge!"

Krookodile punched the ground with its fist, making multiple stones come out of it. The stones headed for Snorlax's direction quickly. Unfortunately for Dark Ash, Red was prepared. "Earthquake!"

Earthquake shook the ground, making the stones heading to Snorlax fall apart mid way. "Tch...Ariel Ace!"

Red nodded towards Snorlax. Ariel Ace was just centimetres away from hitting Snorlax, when Snorlax suddenly moved out of the way and fired a Shadow Ball behind it. Krookodile quickly used its Ariel Ace to cut the Shadow Ball in half. Red nodded at Snorlax again, Snorlax saw it and fired multiple Shadow Balls at Krookodile. Krookodile tried to dodge them, but was unable to get hit by two. Krookodile got pushed back a little as Snorlax came up to it with a Mega Punch. Krookodile however, quickly used to Dig to get away. "Earthquake." 

"Jump out and use Dragon Claw!"

Krookodile jumped out from behind, as it attacked it with Dragon Claw. Snorlax, taken in by surprise, got hit and forgot to use Earthquake. "Perfect! Now use Stone Edge!"

Red looked at Snorlax and Snorlax understood immediately. Snorlax used Shadow Ball to hit the Stone Edge, the two attacks collided, cancelling each other out. "Ariel Ace!" Dark Ash grinned.

Krookodile charged into the smoke Shadow Ball and Stone Edge created, with an Ariel Ace in hand. But as it reached into the smoke, nothing was there. "What?!"

"You thought that Snorlax was going to be in the smoke, didn't you?" Red said, completing predicting Dark Ash. "Grr...Where is it..."

Suddenly, something came from the sky and landed on Krookodile, fainting it. "Tch...Body Slam..."

"Pikachu!" Dark Ash yelled to Pikachu angrily, pissed at Red for defeating Krookodile. "Quick Attack!"

Pikachu ran at lightning speed, leaving a dark red trail of blur in its wake. Snorlax was too slow, so it couldn't dodge Pikachu's speed. 'That Pikachu is fast...'

"Finish it off with Thunderbolt!" Snorlax was shocked with red electricity, and the damage from Pikachu's Quick Attack and Thunderbolt and earlier's battle was enough to take it out.

"...Return." Red returned Snorlax and took out another Pokeball. "..." He threw it and a Pikachu appeared.

"Quick Attack!"

Red nodded towards Pikachu, just like he did with Snorlax. (Like seriously, how does his Pokemon understand? Like if I was Pikachu, and Red nodded at me, I'd be like Wtf? Wut does this hooman want me to do?) Pikachu charged towards the other Pikachu with high velocity. The only difference between the two attacks was that Red's Pikachu had yellow electricity around it while charging.

Both of the two speedy attacks(see wut I did there XD) collided, causing a fight of speed and power to occur mid-battle. The colour yellow was on one side, while red was on the other. None of the two Pokemon was or wanted to give in an inch.  

After quite some time, both Pokemon were still on par with their strength. "Tch...this isn't getting anywhere. Fall back! Iron Tail!"

Dark Ash's Pikachu suddenly pulled back, its tail glowing a silver colour. "Iron Tail as well." Red's Pikachu, following Dark Ash's, quickly switched from Volt Tackle to Iron Tail. Both Iron Tails collided, pushing each other back a bit. "Now Thunderbolt!"

Red's Pikachu got shocked by the opposing Pikachu, but didn't deal a lot of damage as it was not very effective. Red nodded at his Pikachu and its fist glowed a white colour before it slammed its fist at the other Pikachu. The other Pikachu's eyes suddenly returned to their original colour as it just stood there, confused. Pika? It looked at Red. Pikachu? Red was surprised by Pikachu's behaviour. He looked at Dark Ash and realized that one side of his eyes was blood red, while the other was auburn brown. "What the-"

Suddenly, Dark Ash's first eye colour, the blood red one, turned to the other sides auburn brown. He looked at Red. "Red?" After hearing Ash say that, Red heaved a sigh of relief. 'Finally, he's back to normal...'

"Wh-"

"Ash!"

Serena, who just arrived after waking up, ran to Ash, who fell to the ground. "Ash! Are you okay? Ash!" Serena shook Ash, calling him awake. "He'll be fine." Red said to Serena. "He just fainted." Red was about to walk away, when Serena called out to him. "Hey! Umm...Thanks for saving me earlier!" Red stopped for a short while. Without turning back, he replied, "No problem." before walking away into the forest.

'Ash...please be alright...'

Serena thought as she sat outside of Ash's room. Luckily, she met a person with long green hair who helped her to bring Ash to the Pokemon Center. He was sitting right next to her as they both waited for Nurse Joy to come out. 'Why is it always because of me...If only I was stronger, I could protect myself and Ash wouldn't have to risk his life to protect me...It's all my fault...'

Nurse Joy walked out of Ash's room as she stood in front of Serena. "He's just fine. He merely fainted from exhaustion. He'll wake up in a few hours." Serena sighed. 'Thank Arceus...'

"But..." Serena looked up.

"Don't mind me asking but, what happened? He was just here around two days ago. Does he have some sort of sickness?"

Serena didn't know how to reply. She knew nothing and it hurt her. She kept her head low, ashamed. The person beside her looked at her for a while before answering, "We actually don't really know as well. I think maybe he was training too much?"

Nurse Joy walked off, mumbling something that sounded like, "Trainers these days..."

"I think I'll go off now." The person said as he stood up. Serena looked at him. "Thanks for helping me earlier." He nodded at her and headed out of the Pokemon Center.
