Daniel's POV.

Flashback

"That can't be true!" I exclaim with anger in my voice.

"It's true. I heard him say that you were friends because he was dared to." Ellie, our class representative, grabs my shoulder and gives me a worried look. I turn around to hide my angry look.

"I'm gonna talk to him!" I say as I realize...

The things she's telling me may be true. He is acting weird lately.

"He's on the gym, but please don't hurt him, or else I'll have to report it to the headmaster." She's using that excuse to prevent me from punching or kicking him. She likes him.

I ignore this fact. I don't plan on doing any of that.

"Thanks. I appreciate you telling me this." I begin to run to the gym to meet him.  I open the door of the gym and look around, searching for him. He is drinking an energy drink on a bench.

Silently, I take his neck and pin him to the lockers.

"What the hell, Kin!? We were friends! Why would you do that to me!?" I say, faking that I knew everything. I hate distrusting my friend like this but I have to know if it's true.

With a fake killing intent on my eyes, I look at him.

"Listen, I know you heard the rumors. I tried to hide it from you as long as I could. I wanted it to last a little longer... Gosh, I fucking despise you," Kin says, smiling creepily.

"Why?" I ask.

"Because I hate worthless scum like you"

As soon as he says that I release my grip from him.

"Fuck you!" I yell. I raise my fist to give him a pack of punches but then, I remember we can't fight here. I leave.

"Coward!" I hear him yell as I walk away. He surely doesn't have the guts to say that in front of me.

As I walk away, my thoughts begin to haunt me. I don't care about my classes, I just want to be alone.

Why? Why? Why?

That is the only thought that crosses my mind. I feel betrayed, alone, unwanted.

I take a pill out of my bag and drink it. An antidepressant. I was prescribed to take one pill a day, but I don't care. I only want the pain to go away.

Several minutes pass. I begin to walk in circles, with no destiny at all. I decide to go home. After all, It's 10:00 AM. Mom is most likely doing her stuff and Dad is most likely in his room, working.

In front of my house, I take my keys out of my pocket and slowly open the front door. I don't want my parents to know I skipped classes.

I close the door slowly and look around. It feels empty.

"Huh? Why is this place so silent?" I ask to myself. I look to my right. Nobody is there.

I walk to the left, checking every room. Not even a single soul.

What?

I walk to the kitchen to take a water bottle. I open the fridge and take one out.

I close the fridge door, noticing a piece of paper pinned to the fridge.

"What is this?" I say. I open the letter.

Daniel.
