Chapter 12: Little Things

118 4 3

We don't count our breaths
Or number our heart beats.
We don't listen for silence
And we don't always grow wiser.

We are angered by little things.
We tell white lies.
We live like there's no tomorrow.
And think that actions don't have consequences.

We find belief in what we see.
But only find faith when it fails
Or when we need to blame someone.

We don't admit to our wrong doings
And we want a cut from the deal.
Sometimes we play the drums
Expecting others not to dance.

We don't like what we have,
And what we have we don't like.
Two sides of the same coin.

We were meant to be extraordinary.
But we live life from a prison cell.
Dead or non living.
At least one was alive.

So let's change tomorrow
Starting today.
Let's be better than yesterday.
Today, tomorrow, together.
